Chapter 72: A

Like what I said before, us the Fonaciers aren't fond of parties. But since it's my eighteenth birthday, we have decided to atleast invite more friends than the usual though hindi ito yung mga traditional na debut. Compare to others, I still consider this simple and tight.

Pareho rin kasi kami ng kambal ko na maraming inimbita though mas marami ang sa'kin at karamihan pa ay mga taga Herondale. I invited my team also. At dahil medyo marami ang bisita, dad decided na magpapa cater kami. Maganda na rin yun para atleast hindi mapagod ang mga tao rito sa bahay.

"Happy birthday, beshie!" magkasabay na bati sa'kin ni Trina at Gail as they handed me a paperbag with floral design. Base on its weight, I am guessing that probably this is a dress.

"Thank you for coming" sagot ko sa kanila na nakangiti and we hugged.

They both sniggered at me "Eighteen ka na! You are not a minor anymore!" Gail exclaimed

I just shook my head at that. Actually hindi ko nga ramdam na eighteen na ako. Or siguro ganito talaga kapag tumatanda na? When I was still young I used to be excited if it's birthday because I get to ask dad for a gift that he will wholeheartedly give me no matter how much it cost. Pero ngayon ni wala akong ibang gusto hilingin sa kanya kung di magtuloy-tuloy ang kabaitan na ipinapakita niya kay Blaise. You know.. something priceless. Something money can't buy.

Naputol ang pag-iisip ko when I felt the vibration of my phone in the pocket of my skirt. Agad akong nagpaalam sa mga kaibigan ko because it's Blaise who texted and told me na malapit na sila ng family niya.

"The Gandias are almost here, kuya!" I yelled at Kuya GD when I walked passed them na nag-iinuman. Umiinom kasi sila nina Rennan and some of my classmates and teammates from Herondale. Yung iba kasi nandun naman sa swimming pool gaya ni captain na hindi naman umiinom.

Sakto lang ang pagbukas ko ng gate because just then, a black Suburban stopped in front of me. The window on the driver side opened and Tito Franz' welcomed me with a smile on his face.

"Happy birthday, hija" he greeted me at umambang yayakap sa'kin. I quickly walked towards him and through the window inakbayan niya ako and gave me kiss on the cheek.

"Happy birthday, Arya!" it was Tita Eliana

"Happy birthday, Ate Ari!" si Kristel naman who waved at me from the back side. When I looked at Blaise, he's just looking at me at kinindatan ako.

"Pasok na po kayo sa loob. Though sorry in advance dahil may mga bisita po kami na medyo nakainom na. Some of them are from Herondale, tito.." alanganing sabi ko. I legit forgot that Tito Franz is our principal at pwedeng mapagalitan ang classmates ko!

He just chuckled at that "It's okay, birthday mo naman"

I guided them na makapagpark dahil marami-raming kotse ngayon sa paligid namin na ang karamihan bisita ni Rennan ang may-ari. Mabuti na nga lang at mabait ang mga kapitbahay namin and they allowed us na makapagpark ang mga bisita namin sa harapan nila. Ito rin kasing mga bisita ng kapatid ko, ewan ko ba. Sabi ko nga sana sinabihan niya na magsama-sama na lang isa o dalawang kotse pagpunta rito hindi yung sari-sarili silang dala.

When Blaise got out of the car, he wrapped his arms around me instantly and kissed me in front of his parents. I automatically hit his arms for that.

"Damn you!" singhal ko sa kanya pero tinawanan niya lang ako at tiningnan ang kabuuan ko.

"Uhm.. hija, alam ba ng daddy mo na pupunta kami?" Tito Franz asked

I nodded "Don't worry tito medyo nag mature na si dad. He said that I can invite whenever I want"
