You woke up to the sun shining through the window, you rubbed your eyes and sat up to find Adrian wasn't beside you, you looked around the room until you spotted him on the balcony, gazing at the sunrise, already dressed and ready for the day.

You got up and wrapped your arms around him from behind.

"Good morning" you said.

"Good morning" he replied, in a sad tone.

"Hey what's wrong? You seem upset"

"It's nothing, I just have to see this old friend of mine today"

You let go and leaned against the railing on the balcony.

"Isn't that a good thing? You get to see a friend again?" You asked.

"I suppose... I just didn't want it to be like this" he replied.

It was silent for a moment. Maybe this friend was connected to one of the Poole he was trying to bring back? Actually... he never told you who he was trying to bring back...

"Adrian?" You said.

"Yeah?"

"Who exactly are you trying to bring back?"

He was silent, contemplating weather or not to tell you.

"Well... you already know this much..."

"I won't tell anyone I promise!"

It was silent for another moment.

"I'm trying to bring back... Vincent Phantomhive, Rachel Phantomhive and their... someone else..."

CIELS PARENTS?! You knew he had connections to them but DAMN. He was willing to go this far to bring them back.

"They died unfairly. They deserved so much more. And to be completely honest... Sebastian and I have a love-hate relationship. That demon is protecting the only living Phantomhive... but he's also going to devour his soul... I'm afraid that butler my rob him of his life"

You let that sink in.

Sebastian... he was such a pretty face and beautiful presence... but he's a demon, creatures that feed in evil. They are the embodiment of evil. They don't have feelings for a care in the world about humans. But... would he rob a child of his life? Especially when reapers are involved.

"Wow... that's going really far for the Phantomhives... you must really care about them..." you said.

"I do" he replied.

He was such a mystery that man.

There was suddenly a knock on the door. You expected it to be the butler or maid or something. You went over to answer it and found Sieglinde, balloons tied to her waist. ((That actually happened))

What?

"Oh, good morning lady Sullivan" you said.

Adrian turned to face the two of you in confusion.

"Good morning. I want to talk to you! I was thinking all night about what you were saying about the outside world and it's really got me curious!"

"Oh ok, we can talk" you said.

She stumbled into the room, her bound feet making it hard for her to stay up, hence the balloons.

"I better go visit that friend of mine, I'll come back for that information later ok?" Adrian said.

"Ok, I'll see you later" you relied as Adrian kissed your cheek.

And with that he was gone.

You turned back to Sieglinde and lifted her onto the bed so she didn't wear out her injured feet.

You sat opposite her, full attention on the girl.

"I must know... what's it like in schools out there?" She asked.

"Well... only boys go to school, the girls usually learn all their skills at home, the learn to read and write as well as to sew and the proper manners of a lady. Us girls have a lot of standards to meet as proper 1800s ladies. The correct dress must be worn to the correct outing at the correct time, we must know how to dine with people of wealth and how to dance with a partner" you explained.

"That sounds difficult..." she said.

"It becomes force of habit once you know all the rules. It end up common knowledge, it can be tedious to learn but once you get it, you won't forget it"

"I guess I'll have a lot to learn before I go see the outside world then, will you teach me?"

"Well, I can teach you some things. I'll teach you how to dance"

You got up and she slipped off the bed.

"Here I'll hold you up so you don't have too much weight on your feet... by the way, what happened if you don't mind me asking?" You said.

"Every witch must have her feet bound when she becomes of age. It's tradition"

"Ouch"

"Yeah... it really hurt. But I guess I've learnt to live with it. Now teach me how to dance"

You put a hand on her waist and grabbed the her hand with the other, having to lean down a little since she was so short, then again, so we're you.

"Ok, put your hand on my shoulder" you said.

She placed a hand on your shoulder and stood up straight.

"Now when my right foot moves back, your left foot goes forward in line with mine"

You both took a step.

"Then the other feet step to the side, we make a box step"

You stepped to the side, then to the front, then to the other side, in no time at all you were dancing across the room, Adrian was right, she was a really fast learner.

"Hey, this is really fun!" She smiled.

"That's what you'd do with a boy at balls and parties" you explained.

"I really want to go to a ball! What else do you have to do at a ball?"

"Wear a bright gown just off the shoulders with long gloved and heeled boots, the prettier the dress the more men will be set on you. If you can befriend a man at a ball you'll be praised for months" you explained.

"So that's where I'll fall in love..."

This poor girl, how could they keep her locked up like this?

You knew she'll be free soon. It's only a matter of time.
