"Bloody hell, Lily. Is this what stage fright feels like?" I muttered anxiously as I stared at my reflection in the mirror. My long, almond colored hair was in an extravagant updo, courtesy of Mar. Although I usually preferred my makeup soft, I let Lily and Marlene convince me that today wasn't a normal day. My lips were red and full, my eyelashes were elongated and dark, my cheeks holding a soft blush, my cheekbones highlighted beautifully. I sucked in a sharp breath before turning to Lily. She merely smiled.

"You'll be fine, Gen." She answered sweetly as she hung up my dress. "Oh! And I found a way to wear James' necklace." She exclaimed as she reached into her pocket, pulling out a hair pin with the lion pendant on it. I bit my bottom lip softly as I stood. It was perfect.

"Thank you, Lil. I love it." I said I examined it in awe. She nodded and spun her index finger in a circle, signaling for me to do the same. I complied, allowing her to put the pin into my hair. It matched perfectly.

I looked down at my stomach that had begun to show a good amount. Ever since I found out, I've been so careful. Sirius has been also. He nearly does everything for me. Although it's frustrating feeling so incapable, I don't want to lose my baby again. Never again.

The sounds of music drew me to peak out the curtain of the tent that we were tucked away in. My eyes immediately landed on Sirius. I sucked in a sharp breath. He'd never looked so handsome. He was in a classical tux, his long black hair was slicked back in a manner that made his face seem more defined. His lips were pursed and his left index finger was tapping his thigh anxiously. His beautiful gray eyes were darting around wildly. I couldn't help but smile until a figure obscured my view.

"Gen! What the bloody hell you think you're doing? Sirius CANNOT see you!" Marlene whisper-yelled as she gently shoved me back into the tent. I rolled my eyes and groaned audibly.

"Now." Mar stated after she pulled a strand of her light blonde hair from her face. "It's time for the dress!"

I sighed in deeply and nodded. I haven't felt this nervous since the sorting hat was placed onto my head my first year.

As the girls helped me get into my beautiful wedding dress, I couldn't help but think of my parents. I silently prayed that they were watching and that they approved of the marriage even though, in my heart, I knew they wouldn't want anybody else as my husband.

Marlene quickly bolted out of the tent while I grabbed onto a chair to steady myself. My feet felt heavy and my heart was pounding so hard I thought it might explode. Lily placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder and nodded towards the tent curtain, my eyes travelled toward the opening where my last piece of family stood.

My twin brother stood, unmoving. He had a soft smile on his face and behind his circular rimmed eyeglasses, tears filled his eyes.

"Genny." He breathed as he entered the tent. He scanned me over, taken in my appearance. "You look... grand." He complimented wearing a sly smile. I erupted into a fit of giggles, memories of when James complimented Lily and I jokingly asked how I looked flooded my mind. I could always count on James to make me feel at ease. He scoffed and extended his arm towards me. I sucked in a sharp breath and took his arm.

We stood at the curtain, ready to walk. My feet feeling heavier than ever in my heels. What if I trip? What if I can't move?

I could practically hear my heart pounding in my ears. I clawed at my twins arm, causing his head to snap to me.

"James... don't let me fall." I whispered shakily. He smirked softly.

"Never, sis."

As the wedding ballad began to play, the tent curtains were pulled back revealing the beautiful display. Rows of people stood staring back at us with kind smiles. Enchanted candles floated in midair around the ceremony, the stars were reflecting on the black lake beautifully. Dumbledore stood at the front along with Lily, Peter, Remus, and Sirius.

The second my eyes landed on him, I could move. His smile pulled me in, my feet trailing towards him absentmindedly. His pursed lips. The way he wiped away a stray tear that had descended down his pale cheek. As I reached him, James held my hand for a moment before giving me to Sirius and taking his place beside him as the best man.

Dumbledore grinned underneath his beard before nodding. "I believe the couple wishes to exchange their own vows."

Sirius sucked in a sharp breath before his eyes fell onto mine. "Genevieve, I never quite saw myself getting married if I'm honest. Especially not to my best mates sister." He chuckled lightly along with some others. "But the moment I saw you in your pajamas eating chocolate cake at midnight, I knew I wanted to see that every night for the rest of my life. You make me feel like I can do anything with you by my side. You make me a better man not because you love me... but because I love you. I vow to always love, protect, and treasure you. Always."

Another tear had begun to slide down his face that I quickly wiped away, ignoring my own that fell disobediently. I bit my bottom lip gently before sucking in a sharp breath.

"Sirius, when we first met, I hated you." I said aloud while giggling slightly. Sirius chuckled lowly. "But in reality, I hated you for so long because I didn't want to admit to the fact I'd already fallen in love with you. It happened so quickly, so smoothly that it was like I'd fallen asleep. You accept me as I am and care for me like no other. I will always, truly, completely love you. Always."

I felt a nudge from behind me, Lily extended Sirius's wedding band towards me with tears in her eyes. I sniffled and carefully took it. When I faced Sirius once more, he was holding my ring. We happily placed the wedding bands onto one another's left hand. I let out a puff of air as I stared at Sirius. His usually pale cheeks were flushed, his grey eyes shined like never before.

"Well!" James quietly pressed. "Kiss her, mate!"

We all couldn't help but laugh at my twins little outburst. Sirius wasted no time in grabbing my waist and pulling me to him. He trailed his thumb across my bottom lip before crashing his lips onto mine. The distant cheers and claps seemed so unimportant. My heart, body, and soul intertwining with his. I pulled from the kiss and let out a soft laugh, my heart swelling at the sound of pure happiness from all of our friends; our family.

9:13 pm

My head rested on Sirius shoulder as we swayed back and forth to the music in the tent. All of our guests had congratulated us, even Amos and his lovely girlfriend. After years of feeling lost, I felt at peace.

At that moment, the chaos began.

I ripped myself from Sirius at the sound of screams. Hooded figures were firing curses in every direction. Sirius and I instinctively pulled out our wands and began firing off jinxes.

I felt the pain before I'd seen the death eater.

My screams rang in my ears as I clawed at every part of my body. It was like my blood had been turned into poison, flowing through me. Time didn't exist. I could hear the distant yells. After what felt like hours, the pain ceased. I was breathing shakily, tears streaming down my cheeks. I could hear James fearfully calling my name.

Fear filled me. Not again.

The last thing I saw were the blurry faces of Sirius and Dumbledore before the darkness ripped away my consciousness.
