The Air

Breezes blow uncontrolled

Trees tap shattered windows

Ashes of the fallen twist

Mixing with sorrowful tears

Their vortex deeply enchanting

Their mysterious death

haunting,

Trumpets light the bitter

crossing,

Watching their deliverance

soothing,

Dreams light our souls but

once,

You dreamt of cloudless skies

Walking under the beauty of

the sun's warmth,

The glow alluring

How it calls souls gently

I walk among darkness

Shadows enfold my form

Glances falter my steps

I fall quickly into memory

Golden fields grace my feet

You are running amid wheat

Calling my secret name

Warmth warms my cold husk

Youth surfaces upon every

smile,

The torment of loneliness

lacerated healed wounds,

You smile down upon me

Tears fall into each hand

You wipe my shame away

lovingly,

You become the air

I take deep breathes

Hoping you will wrap my heart

When you turn

My knees fall

As wheat blankets the force

I let my heavy head descend

Lost from my sight you have

become,

I miss rubbing long nails

The comfort you gained magical

Mom you are missed

May traveling among the sun

bring joyous delight,

I will stay within the wheat

Catching slow bursts of air

Take a breath

Just take each breath
