My New Life

I met with my divorce attorney today, and he told me I had a case. I didn't want any money, or the house, and I didn't even want his last name anymore. All I wanted was to be away from him. And to give my child a great life. I'm having a meeting with Luke today to talk about our divorce and to tell him about my baby. I didn't want to tell him, but it was the right thing to do. I think we could do the co-parenting thing. My mom was sitting on the couch when I found her.

"Hey sweetie. How are you feeling?"

"Horrible. I don't want to see him." I replied. I didn't. The only reason I was going was to talk about the divorce.

"Well, think of it this way. After everything is over and done with you won't ever have to see him again."

I gave a scoff.

"Do you really think he's just going to let me go? Especially after he finds out about pup?"

My mom raised her eyebrow.

"Pup?"

I roll my eyes.

"Really mom? Everything else that I said, you had to zoom in on pup?"

She laughed and hugged me.

"You are a beautiful, independent, black woman. You don't need a man to complete you. You and pup are gonna be fine."

I nod my head.

"I guess you are right."

I grabbed my purse and gave my mom a kiss on the cheek.

"I'll see you later."

"Okay. Call me when you're done."

I get in my car and speed done the highway. We decided to meet at this private little restaurant with nice staff. It was also considered a romantic restaurant. I rolled my eyes at his attempt to be romantic. I got out of my car and walked into the restaurant. I was escorted to the table he reserved and there he sat. Luke sat up eagerly when he saw me. I glared at him and cheered on the inside when his expression changed to hurt. I sat down and ordered spaghetti and meatballs with a Pepsi. He just stared at me. I rolled my eyes and looked at him

"I'm so sorr-"

"I don't want your apology, I filed for a divorce today and I'm getting my stuff out of your house tomorrow."

"What?! You can't do that we're mates."

"We are not mates anymore, Luke."

"No you can't do this to me. I love you soo much."

He was close to tears now.

"Oh and there is one more thing!"

He looked at me expectantly and waited for me to tell him.

"I'm pregnant."
