We were hiding behind the bush of a big red house. It was one of those Victorian houses that you see in those calm and collect neighborhoods. "Where's Luther?" I asked.

"Be patient Alyson." He said.

"I can't help it if I'm hungry," I said.

"You ate like 5 minutes ago." He said.

"You can't put a time in a vampire's meal," I said. He rolled his eyes and rolled up his shirt sleeve and put his arm out to me. "Drink." He said.

"No way," I said.

"Why not? What's wrong with my blood?" He asked.

"Nothing's wrong with it. I just choose not to eat off of my 'friends'." I said.

"So we're friends now?" He asked.

"Way to ruin the moment Matt," I said.

"Just drink it." He said.

"No," I said.

"Your just so dang on stubborn aren't you." He said.

"Nothing short of who I am," I said.

"That's what makes you a good partner in vampire crime." He said.

"You say it as if its a job," I said.

"It is a job." He said seriously. I laughed at him and rolled my eyes. "Can I ask you something?" I asked.

"Ask away." He said.

"That night Stew came. You were there at my house. Why?" I asked.

"I was fixing your door and then I sorta fell asleep." He said.

"How did my curtains get shut?" I asked. "You're no longer human. You would have died before you had a chance to see the sun." He said.

"You saved my life," I said.

"For the second time since we met." He said. "Don't go getting cocky or I will drink your blood. Every last drop." I said. "Sorry didn't mean to make you mad." He said. I laughed at him. Since my son was killed Matt has been the only person that I consider a friend except for Duke. Duke was kinda like Matt. They both never criticized me for my actions after Adam and I was happy to have both of them around whenever they were around. Plus with Matt now I exit the house a little more each day
