"'If you see someone fall, pick them up'..." Rapunzel re-reads the fortune aloud as the three of them head back toward the caravan on Maximus and Fidella. Rapunzel is on Fidella, while Eugene and Varian both ride Max. "What do you think it means?"

"Oh, I know what it means," Eugene says, sarcasm dripping in his tone. "It means we just paid five silver pieces for a pilfering primate to hand you a phony fortune!"

"Well, so what?" Rapunzel says. "Maybe it was all just a trick. But what if, what if, it wasn't?"

Eugene rolls his eyes. Varian tends to agree with Eugene on this one, but he decides to stay out of it for now.

"And, I'm surprised at you, Eugene," Rapunzel continues. "We have seen some really strange things together. Why are you being so cynical?"

"Cynical? Cynical?" Eugene repeats. "Look, Blondie. I believe in some crazy stuff. You know that I do, right? Life-saving hair, believe it. Magical rocks, sure. Sword-fighting horses, why not? Hermano caballo, you sign me up. But if there's one thing I do not believe in, it's fortune tellers. And if there's a second thing I do not believe in, it's fortune tellers that also happen to be monkeys! They're all sleazy, underhanded, fly-by-night, dubious hucksters. And you know what? I'm gonna prove it!" He suddenly turns Maximus around. "Max? Back to the wagon!"

"Geez, tell us how you really feel," Varian says with a chuckle as Rapunzel sighs and follows them.

As they return to the wagon, Madame Canardist rushes out to meet them and drops to the ground, crying

As they return to the wagon, Madame Canardist rushes out to meet them and drops to the ground, crying.

"Madame Canardist?" Rapunzel says worriedly, hopping off of Fidella and approaching the woman. "Are you okay?"

"I never okay again!" Madame Canardist sobs in her thick accent, taking Rapunzel's hands in hers. "My Vigor has been taken. Thieves snatched him right out of his wagon!"

"It's going to be alright," Rapunzel tells her comfortingly. "Don't worry. Eugene, Varian, and I will find the thieves that took Vigor, and we will bring him back. Right, guys?" She turns to face them.

"What? Oh, no no no," Eugene replies, hopping off of Maximus. "Come on! The last thing I wanna do is spend the rest of our already-interrupted date chasing some monkey..." He suddenly looks down, and the expression on his face changes. "Okay, we'll track down the monkey."

"I knew you would come around," Rapunzel says as Eugene bends over to pick something up. Varian hops off of Maximus and watches Eugene curiously.

"I wouldn't go that far," Eugene tells her. "But I have a pretty good idea of who took him..." He holds up a comb for them to see, with the name 'Flynn Rider' carved into it.

"What, your alter ego stole him?" Varian says jokingly.

Rapunzel gasps. "Eugene, isn't that the comb you gave to Angry?"
