sleepover

SURPRISINGLY, BOTH FRANKIE AND ADRIAN WERE INVITED TO STAY WITH MAX AND EL AT EL'S CABIN. The two didn't mind and were, in fact, happy. Max was dancing around the room, singing along to 'Angel.'

Frankie was sitting on the bed with El looking through the magazines that Max had brought over. Adrian was sitting on the floor, humming the song as he occasionally laughed at Max.

Max looked over towards El and chuckled when she realized who she was looking at. "Oh, you found Ralph Macchio." Adrian glanced up towards the girls, resting his chin on the bed.

"Macchio?" El questioned with a small smile on her face. "Yeah, he's the karate kid. Hai-yah!" Max pretended the karate-chop.

El giggled at her and looked back down to the magazine. "He's so hot, right?" Max asked. Frankie uncomfortably shuffled on the bed, not going unnoticed by Adrian.

"I bet he's an amazing kisser, too." Adrian swallowed thickly as Max looked over at him.

"Hey, uh... is Mike a good kisser?"

"What?" He quickly glanced at Frankie, eyeing Max with a glare. Frankie giggled. "I already know. It's fine."

Adrian let out a breath, one of relief. "Well, then. I don't know." He looked down, picking at his fingernails. "He was my first... significant other...?"

He looked down when he realized that they were no longer a thing. Maybe he should've given Mike a chance to explain. Maybe he was being overdramatic. Maybe he just lost his first love forever.

"Hey, don't worry about it. Okay?" Max squeezes his shoulder in reassurance.

"He'll come crawling back to you in no time, begging for forgiveness." Adrian looked up at her, crossing his arms as he rested his head on the side of the bed.

"I guarantee you, him and Lucas are, like, totally wallowing in self-pity and misery right now. They're like, 'Oh, I hope they take us back.'" Adrian laughed nervously.

"Yeah..." He forced a smile. "What I wouldn't give to see their stupid faces." Max laughed. El looked down as if she was thinking. "What is it?" Max asked, noticing her stance.

El explained what she could do, intriguing everyone in the room. Max walked over to the dresser and flipped through the stations on the radio, stopping when it was just static.
