You Belong With Me (BoyXBoy)

The Invitation

(This chapter is Ryan's point of view of what happened in chapter 1)
I'm the average popular kid. I'm the high school quarterback, and I'm gay. Well no one really knows about the last part. I'm a closet case and it's hard. My team depends on me to be straight, and sometimes I just want to come out. I'm in love with Lucas Anderson, everyone says he's a total geek. I don't. I think he's the sweetest, smartest, handsomest guy in the universe, and he's at my school. I look at him everyday and I've wanted to have a real conversation and tell him how I feel,but sadly I haven't gotten the balls to tell him. I was lucky enough when Mr. Jamison my tech teacher announced to the class that our final unit project would be a partner project. I couldn't believe it I had to do ask Lucas. I finally built up the courage to ask him to be my partner and maybe ask him out along the way. I finally decided to build up the confidence to ask him to be partners. I came into school early that morning, walked up to his locker, and waited.

7:30 came around and I saw his golden brown hair walk through the halls. His ocean blue eyes stared at me as he was thinking about coming over. It was his locker though so he didn't have a choice. He walked over to my spot and I moved over for him to open his locker. He opened it up and took out some binders and a book. He was reading 'On being human' by Fulton J Sheen, very interesting. He looks at me and my heart flutters. Who knew I could act like this, so loving, so kind, so compassionate. We talk for a little bit and then I say

"Do you want to come over after school and we can get a head start?" I ask him. He looks at me and says                                                                        
"Sure, I'll meet you in the parking lot at 2:15." I couldn't believe it. I just invited Lucas Andersen, the love of my life, over to my house. Actually I can believe that cause people invite other people over to their houses all the time. What I really couldn't believe is that he actually said yes. I didn't really know what to do after that so I just told him,                                                                                          
"Ok see you then." after that I walked off. The rest of the day I couldn't concentrate. I was so nervous, I even left school during lunch to make sure that my house was completely clean. Then Tech Class came I walked in and I didn't see Lucas at first. I got a little nervous what had happened to him, did he get hurt, was he sick, or did he decide to ditch school. I was going over these options when he came into the room with a late pass from Mrs. Cambell our History teacher, she's a total bitch, she must have kept him for some reason. The question is what had happened. I could ask him after school, but that would have seemed rude. Then he walked over to me and sat down.

"Cambell sucks she gave me an A because of something she wrote incorrectly on the test. If she had payed attention I would have gotten an A+." He told me. Lucas looked so cute when he was angry. Especially when it was about school and him trying to be perfect. I looked at him and tell him,        

"Dude, I understand, she's too busy trying to kiss up to Mr.Davidson (our principal) to give her a raise. That she doesn't give a crap about making sure her tests are accurate." He looks at me and smiles. It was like he finally found some one that understands him. He opens his mouth to tell me something, but then Mr. Jamison began class. I hoped he would tell me after class, but when we were dismissed he just left and walked on to last period. I was disappointed, then I thought it probably wasn't anything important, probably nothing I needed to worry about, still it would have been nice to know what he was gonna say. Final period came and went, I couldn't pay attention all Spanish that I almost had a heart attack when Sra. Henriques called on me. Luckily I knew what we had been talking about so I got the question right. When the bell rang I grabbed my bag, walked out of the class, and went to wait for Lucas outside of his yearbook meeting. At 2:15 Lucas walked out of the room and I led him to my car. Before he got in he asked me,                                                                                                                   

"So what should we start with, because I was thinking about the website layout." he stated.

I looked at him and said, "That sounds like a great idea," and with that he got into my car.
