So you ask "영어 할 수 있어요?". The guide responds "한국어 못해요?"

하다 (ha-da) ~ do
못 (mot) ~ can't
못하다 ~ can't do.
해요 (he-yo) = ender of sentence.

You can't speak Korean.

You say "네" (ne) ~ yes.
Responding to cant you do this is different in Korean. In English.. it be.. no I can't. In korean.. it is yes I can't. This is why a lot of Koreans say yes to a negative question.

The guide then says "죄송해요. 사람을 잘못 봤네요." And leaves.

죄송 (jwe-song) ~ sorry. More formal

해요. 합니다 (hab-nii-da) ~ same concept with 입니다.

잘못 (jaal-mot) ~ wrong, mistaken
봤다 (bwaat-da) ~ see
네요 (ne-yo). 어요 (eo-yo) also same concept

을 (eul) ~ it's like an address word. I saw it wrong. Saw what wrong? 사람을. Get it? Again... it isn't in the English language
☞ this is similar to 는 and 은. If there is a 받침 it's 을. If there is no 받침 it's 를 (leul)

실례합니다 (shil-lye-hab-nii-da) ~ excuse me.
Know ~ 알다 (al-da) > change it to 아요 to ask questions. > 알아요
있다(it) same concept as 입니다. Used for locating.
>있는지 (it-neun-jii) ~ because 다 is an ending word you have to change it to a transition word.
