Koreans Special Day

Korea has a 'day' for every 14th day of the month. I specifically like April 14 :) If there is more than one, the first one is more well known.

January 14: 다이어리데이 (da-ee-eo-rii-de-ee) diary day. Couples give each other diaries as a present. The purpose is for them to write a diary for a year.

January 14: 헬로우데이 (Hel-lo-oo-de-ee) hello day. Really popular to middle schoolers. You say hello to the person you love, they have to be your first person to say hello, then your love becomes true.

Febuary 14: 발렌타인데이 Valentine Day. Well known for females to give chocolates to the boy they love.

March 14: 화이트데이 (hwa-ee-teu-de-ee) white day. The males give candies to the girl they love.

April 14: 블렉데이 (beul-lek-de-ee) black day. Guys and girls, who haven't gotten anything on Valentine or White day, wear black and go eat 짜장면 and black coffee. Usually singles. Singles then meet each other (they know cuz they are wearing black) and usually new couples are made.

May 14: 로즈데이 (ro-jeu-de-ee) rose day. Couples exchange roses

May 14: 옐로우데이 (yel-lo-oo-de-ee) yellow day. People who are still single after Black day wear yellow and go eat curry

June 14: 키스데이 (kee-seu-de-ee) kiss day. Couples kiss. Kids also kiss their parents on this day.

June 14: 머그데이 (meo-geu-de-ee) mug day. You give mugs as a present.

July 14: 실버데이 (shil-beo-de-ee) silver day. As a future vow, couples exchange silver rings

August 14: 그린데이 (geu-reen-de-ee) green day. Couples go to places green like mountains or forest. The purpose of this is to get away from the hot summer :) also for singles to drink 소주 (green bottle)

August 14: 달데이 (daal-de-ee) doll day. Give doll presents

August 14: 껌데이 (ggeom-de-ee) gum day. Younger kids give gum to someone they like.

September 14: 포토데이 (po-to-de-ee) photo day. Couples take pictures together.

September 14: 뮤직데이 (myoo-jiik-de-ee) music day. Couples go to places where there is music, like clubs, and dance together

October 14: 와인데이 (wa-iin-de-ee) wine day. Or 레드데이 (le-deu-de-ee) red day. Couples drink wine together

November 14: 쿠키데이 (koo-kii-de-ee) cookie day. Give cookies to someone you like.

November 14: 오렌지데이 (o-len-jii-de-ee) orange day. Drink orange juice.

November 14: 무비데이 (moo-bee-de-ee) movie day. Couples go watch a movie.

December 14: 허그데이 (heo-geu-de-ee) hug day. With a loving heart, couples hug each other on a winter day.

December 14: 머니데이 (mo-nee-de-ee) money day. It's where the male use money up just for their girl.

December 14: 양말데이 (yaang-maal-de-ee) socks day. Giving socks as a present to prepare for Christmas.

Other Special Days

March 3: 삼겹살데이 (sam-gyeob-saal-de-ee) pork belly day. 삼 - 3. 겹 - layered. March 3 - 3, 3 - 3 is layered. You go eat pork~

March 17: 세인트패트릭데이 (se-iin-teu-pe-teu-rik-de-ee) Saint Patrick's Day. Give 4 leaf clover to a thankful person.

May 2: 오이데이 (o-ee-de-ee) cucumber day friends share cucumber with a meaning of loosing wait. 5~오 2~이

May 31: 부채데이 (boo-che-de-ee) fan day give fans as a present. The fans that we carry around and use our hand. Not the turning electricity :)

October 24: 애플데이 (eh-peul-de-ee) apple day. 사과 in korean also means apologize. It's the 24th because i means 2 people 4: 사과 (apologizes)

November 11: 빼빼로데이 (bbe-bbe-ro-de-ee) pocky day. Because 11 looks like pocky sticks, people give pocky sticks to people. Also with a meaning of "let's get taller" "let's get skinnier" "let's get longer legs" like a pocky stick.

고백데이 (go-baek-de-ee) confess day. This day is when you go to someone you love and confess. Its 100 days before Christmas, Sept 17, or Monday of the third week of December.
