2 years later

Alison POV:
"I have to go. I'll see you later, babe." I say, and put my clothes back on.

[...]

"I'm home!" I shout, walking into the house.

"Mom! Did you get Cheetos?!" Asher asks, running down the stairs and sliding across the floor on his socks, over to me.

"Yep!" I say with a smile.

"Mama!" Phoenix exclaims, riddling over.

"Hey, baby!" I say, and pick her up.

"Hello!" Michael says with the cutest smile.

"Hey, buddy. Where are your clothes?" I ask with a laugh.

"Uh...Dunno." He replies with a shrug.

"I'm not complaining. You're adorable with just a diaper." I laugh.

"I'll take these." Shay says, grabbing the groceries.

"Thank you."

"Mom! Guess what!" Asher shouts, running back over.

"What?"

"I'm 14!" He shouts.

"I know! You have been for like 2 weeks, but still..." I pout.

"And I'm 16." Shay chimes in, and winks at him.

"Shut up..." He mumbles.

"I free!" Emerson squeals.

"You're free?!" Emily asks, bounding down the stairs.

"Yeah!" She shrieks with a giggle.

"I think you mean three." Emily chuckles.

"Tree?" Emerson questions.

"Three." Emily tells her.

"Treeeee...?" Emerson asks, stretching out the word.

"Whatever." Emily laughs, and picks her up.

"Where are their clothes?" I ask Emily.

"In the wash. They decided it would be a good idea to get in the paint." She tells me. "Isn't that right?" Emily asks Michael, and pokes his bare belly, making him shriek with laughter.

"Yep!" I responds, popping the 'p' at the end. Definitely Emily's kid.

"Who's ready for lunch?" Shay shouts from the kitchen, her voice bouncing off the walls and echoing through the long hallway.

"Me!" Emerson shouts, and wiggles out of Emily's arm.

Emily POV:
"Stop throwing macaroni at me, you little shit!" Shay accidentally blurts out at Phoenix.

"Shay!" I scowl.

"Sorry. It was an accident. I'm just used to mom saying it." She apologizes, letting out a laugh on the last sentence.

I also laugh, and look over at Alison to see her reaction. But she didn't even notice. She's looking at her phone.

"Alison." I speak.

"Wha-Huh?" She stutters, jerking her head up.

"...Nothing." I sigh.

I roll my eyes, and continue talking to the kids.

I look over at Alison every few seconds, each time she's on her phone, texting someone. Smiling. Giggling quietly. Blushing...
