When I woke up the next day, I couldn't help but feel my heartache as I frowned, pushing my face further into the pillow beneath my head.

It was my last day at the Crimson-Moon pack, my last day with Sebastian-- and I was nowhere near deciding what was going to be happening between Seb and I.

I didn't want to leave my pack, but I didn't necessarily want to leave my mate, the one I was destined to be with for life, behind.

It was like a cruel joke was being played on me-- I was clearly being dealt the short stick of life.

I huffed irritably at my thoughts. I couldn't taint my last day with Sebastian with all the negative thoughts that were flying through my mind-- today was going to be a good day, and I plan to spend the entire day with my mate.

Well, planned.

I wasn't mad at him about what happened yesterday, we were both having a moment.

A moment that risked everything.

Just being in Sebastian's presence made me crave more. I never knew a mate bond could feel like this, it was pushing the both of us together— it didn't help that the man was massively attractive and no one could deny that.

When I had finally turned around on the bed, all I faced was the empty side of the bed that Sebastian apparently sleeps on. I was yet to see this man stay in this bed past five in the morning.

I immediately felt the frown on my face deepen, I could literally feel my wrinkle lines permanently embedded in my skin as I glared at the creased pillow.

It was my last day, the least he could do was sleep in just a little bit.

Before I could do anything, the door of the bedroom creaked open, causing me to lift my head up from the bed in an alarmed manner. The alert feeling within my bones slowly eased away once my eyes landed on the tall build physique of Sebastian Thorne, his arms filled as he walked towards me with a tray of food.

"Good morning, Lia," My heart paused for a moment, my eyes flickered open and closed as I stared up at the man in front of me, my mouth going dry.

Sebastian's brows furrowed and wrinkled appeared on his forehead as he watched my reaction. "What's the matter?" He asked, before placing the tray of food on the end of the bed and making his way to the head of the bed.

"You called me Lia," I spoke for the first time of the day, my mouth drier than usual. I really needed to brush my teeth. I made a note to myself not to speak too close to Sebastian until I could freshen up.

I watched as a smile spread across his face. "Yeah, I thought it sounded nice. Don't you?" He asked, and he reached down to gently grab my hand in his, his touch immediately having the ability to warm my entire body. What the hell is this feeling?
