The drive to the station was conflicting.

I knew I shouldn't feel upset, my family's in the fucking mafia for fucks sake. They'd get me out no problem, I just needed to hang on for a few days.

Yet, I couldn't help but feel in my gut that it would take longer than that.

It had just gone midday by the time we arrived at the station, it was a large grey building, which was pretty fucking depressing.

How could someone work here everyday?

I grabbed my small bag of shit and followed the two officers into the building, taking in the various other police officers situated around the building.

They gave me small smiles of... pity?

Urgh.

I stared at them back blankly, not wanting to put up with the victim facade they forced onto me when they took me from my home.

We slowly made our way through the maze of offices and rooms, until we stopped outside one with the plaque, 'Diaz' nailed to the door.

Spanish, huh? Please be a hot latino man, my shit day would get 10x better.

The female officer knocked on the door and waited patiently for a response.

"Come in." A slightly accented male voice responded.

Ok hot voice: check.

The two officers ushered me forwards, "Okay sweetie, this is where we leave you for today," the woman spoke, "Officer Diaz will take care of you from now on."

They both smile and wished me goodbye, leaving me to walk into this stranger's office,

Okaaay then.
