I'm sitting in Romeo's bed, both us gorging out on his secret stash of candy

I'm sitting in Romeo's bed, both us gorging out on his secret stash of candy.

"Honestly, fuck them for talking to you like that." Romeo scoffs, mouth full of a twix bar.

"Say it louder for the people in the back Rome!" I yell in reply, making Romeo jump up on his feet on the bed, cupping his hands around his mouth.

"FUCK YOU GUYS!!!" He yells into the room, loud enough that I'm sure the whole house could hear.

I fall on my side in a fit of laughter, Romeo quickly falling beside me himself in a fit of his own laughter.

Ok, so we may be high on sugar right now, but it was definitely necessary.

We soon sober up, just staring up at the ceiling in a comfortable silence.

"Just so you know," I say to Romeo softly, "I won't live by your guys' rules forever." I inform him, turning my head to face him better.

He sighs a little sadly, "We know that Car." He replies, turning his own head to face me, "We just don't want you to grow up. To us you're still and always will be our baby sister." He explains softly.

"I know, and I always will be, but you have to understand that some of this comes off as extremely misogynist-" I get cut off by a loud crash and yelling coming from downstairs.

Romeo and I both flinch from the loud sound, sitting upright immediately and looking to the door, eyes wide.

We can hear distinct shouting and yelling, followed by glass shattering.

"Fuck." I say, getting up from the bed, ready to intervene what I'm guessing is the two mafias fighting one another.

I'm not vain enough to think it's over me, I mean, put two separate mafias in a room together and they're bound to fight, shared sister or not.

Either way, I don't want them to result in physically hurting one another. I've already caused enough problems in this mess, and we really don't need more petty ones arising.

I'm halfway to Romeo's door when he calls out to me, "Wait Car, stop. You're not going down there." He frowns, "For all we know it's Angelo and Andrei in a full blown fight, two of the biggest guys I know might I just add, and I don't want you getting caught up in that." He explains, making me frown back at him.

"Did we not just have a conversation about this?" I ask him incredulously.

He grumbles childishly, "I'm not ready to let you grow up just yet." He whines cutely, but he's not fooling me with those puppy eyes.

"Then come with me." I retaliated, "It's called a compromise, ever heard of it?" I tease him, gasping as I say the next words, "It can be your new word of the day! How does that sound? Compromise, meaning when idiotic older brothers do not hold back their sisters from doing what they want based on old fashioned and misogynistic views!" I deadpan, a half-teasing, half-fed up tone to my voice.
