POV Tantri

The trial continues, the prosecutor and the lawyer who's defending heer Pieter continue to summoned and questioned witnesses whose testimonies can increase or lighten heer Pieter's guilty or innocence status in the eyes of the panel of judges. The trial court also held two recession sessions before the trial was resumed for a while and then ended to be continued in the future.

In the following days, during the trial, I never thought that Setya, who is
heer Pieter's lawyer, would be able to give fierce resistance to Stijn, even though there was enough evidence to burden heer Pieter's status as someone who is guilty and deserved a prison sentence.

Sometimes, when Setya and Stijn presented each of their own witnesses, proofs and arguments, I could heard Lodewijk's sigh which was quite loud and also, sometimes I saw him massaging his forehead between his eyebrows while showing a frustrated look on his face.

It seems that he understands the current situation and the strengths and weaknesses of the questions and arguments presented by Setya and Stijn, and he seemed has a lot to say about it. He must be very upset watching this trial, well so am I.

Time goes on, days keep on changing until it is hard to believe that now it is already the 5th month since the first trial began, this fierce trial has not yet come to an end and in the same courtroom, the presiding judge again asked the prosecutor about who is the witness that he would summon next to testify, he then asked heer Pieter Cornelis de Graeff to testify before the court.

The presiding judge asked heer Pieter's willingness to give his testimony, then heer Pieter answered the presiding judge's questions while standing up from his seat then, he came to the center of the courtroom, was sworn in and sat in the witness chair, then Stijn was given permission by the presiding judge to question him.

"Mr. Pieter, you are the chairman of the board of directors of the LVDC & Telecom, B.V. company, correct?"

"Yes, right."

"Were you also the one who initiated the establishment of the LVDC charity foundation?"

"Yes, right."

"Do you also held any strategic position in that charity foundation?"

"No, although the funds for the establishment and development along with the initial operational funds of that charity foundation were financed by the company owned by my ancestors and my family, neither I nor my family members hold any strategic positions in the company.

About 16 years after that charity foundation was founded, I, who was then held the position as the chairman of the charity's board of directors, resigned from holding that position and handed over that position to another person who was not related to me."

"In the profile of the LVDC charity foundation it is written that several members of the board of directors of that charity foundation also held positions as the members of the board of directors at the LVDC & Telecom, B.V. company and as you have heard before from the testimony of one of your colleagues, he said that he and the other members of the board of directors of the LVDC charity foundation approved the activity of donating funds to the Neo-NSB party in the financial management plan of the charity foundation because they agreed with the vision and mission of the Neo-NSB party to protect the people of the Verenigde Staten van Indonesië from the extreme radical islam ideological influence.

My question for you is, do you share the same political views as your colleagues? Do you as an individual feel that the vision and mission that were brought by that Neo-NSB party can protect the people of the Verenigde Staten van Indonesië from the influence of radical Islamic ideology?"
