POV Ludwig

The day of the test arrived, I went to the site of the test by car. The test site is an old house that is located quite hidden by trees.

When I arrived, I circled the outside of the house first to ensure that no one followed me then, according to the instructions, I was asked to take the gun inside a chest inside the warehouse that is located outside of the house.

After picking up the gun, I went into the house, I tried to be careful so that I would not slip over because the wooden floor is rotten.

When I arrived in the middle of the room I saw Lodewijk with his hands cuffed by handcuffs that looked like automatic electric cuffs lying on the floor, he is limp. Someone put somekind of metal disc that is placed on his neck with a small red light on it. What is the use of that metal disc?

"Foe." I answered. Suddenly Lodewijk's body shook violently making me feel sorry for him. He looked at me, his gaze to me is like a gaze asking for pity.

"The second question, do you consider him a relative or someone you don't know?"

"Someone I don't know." he shook again. When the red indicator light turned green, was he electrocuted?

"The third question, would you be willing to kill this stranger, who is your foe and that is trying to stand in front of the party's interests for our great race? The ruling race?"

"Yes, I'm willing." I answered.

I pulled my gun out of my pocket and aimed at Lodewijk's head. My gun was cocked, my index finger pressed against the trigger ready to pull it to kill Lodewijk. I exhaled, one second, two seconds, three seconds later I made words out of my mouth.

"Meneer, before I kill this person, may I hear his last wish?!" I shouted.

"Yes, you may." he answered.

"Lodewijk, before your life ends, do you have any final wish?" in a hoarse voice, he answered.

"Yes broeder, I have. Thank you for all the experiences I have had with you from when we were still children until now. I know that I am not a good brother, I am often annoying, childish and may be just a nuisance in your life until you finally look at me as an enemy. I don't mind you look at me as your enemy but one thing I ask from you, after my death, I hope you are happy and won't have to worry because of my presence or feel disturbed by me anymore and I hope that even if you think of me as an enemy, you will always remember that I will always love you. Ik hou van jou broeder (I love you brother)." he said by showing a small smile while his body lying on the floor and curled up facing me.

Why didn't he stop loving me at times like this? How come at times like this he can still say that? Does he expect my forgiveness and mercy?
