POV Tantri

Damn it, damn it, damn it, damn it! How could they have knowledge of Lodewijk's movements so fast?! Ah, of course. Lodewijk had previously been kidnapped and almost everyone who followed the news on the mevrouw Sofia's case certainly knew Lodewijk Engels's name. Moreover, he is a public lawyer and a private investigator. It is certain that his identity and information about him are open to be accessed and known by the public and therefore SSE can find out his movements easily.

I turned my car back to the tower viewer area to follow him to the location where he was last active as shown on his shared location's map. Unfortunately, as I headed to the road that lead to the area of his smartphone's location, several police patrol cars are lined, making a blockade.

I was unsure about what I should do. If I tried to get in and show them my police badge they certainly wouldn't let me in because I had no authority here. I am just a second inspector police officer working in the cybersecurity division. If I wanted to enter, I had to receive an order via an assignment letter stating that I could enter this territory.

There is no other way, I have to lie so I can go in and take my hard disk and Lodewijk's smartphone before they find it first. May Allah protect me, bismillaah.

I stopped a few meters in front of the blockade of police patrol cars, took off my headscarf, got out of my car showing the police badge on my wallet, introduced myself to the other police personnel on guard.

"Tantri Annie Dekker, second inspector, cybersecurity division!"

I walked to them with my wallet and handed it to them, they checked it and returned it to me.

"What are you doing here?" asked one of the policemen on guard.

"I was ordered by my superior to check the chronological conditions at the scene of the crime whether it corresponds to the CCTV recordings that were installed around here or not due to the unrecorded events because of several CCTV's are inactive around here." I explained.

"Where's your assignment letter?" he asked.

"My superior called me and asked me to immediately go to the scene of the incident, he did not give me an assignment letter. Why in this precarious situation I have to show my assignment letter although he asked me to come here immedeately? Why is this even an issue if quite often we as police neglect the standard of procedures during our operations?"

The police officer took out his walkie talkie and asked his superior.

"Sir, there is a second inspector police officer named Tantri Annie Dekker from the cyber division who wants to check the scene of the incident to check the chronology of what happened because some CCTV's are dead, should we let her in?"

A few moments later his superior answered.

"Yes, some of the CCTV's here are dead, I got information from my superiors that some people from the cyber division are coming, let her in." he said.

"Yes, sir." he replied.

"Open the blockade!" he said giving orders to his men.

I walked to my car, got in and stepped on the gas past the team of police personnel blocking the road. Alhamdulillaah, I don't know how that coincidence happened but at least even if I lied, they wouldn't suspect me.

When I get far enough from them, I stop my car and checked using my smartphone whether the CCTV's around here are really dead or not and sure enough, the CCTV's around here are dead. I have to take advantage of this situation to perform my action.
