POV Karim

My father's daily life after becoming the Sultan of Sucilangkung, changed. He who used to be at home quite often is now often dealing with piles of paper containing various drafts of policies and laws and regulations as well as discussing and arguing with the other members of the Customary Council and oftentimes, he asks me to come to his house to help him think about what steps that he needs to take and what he had to do to revoke several policies that were negatively affecting the livelihood of the people of the Sucilangkung City which had been passed during the time when my uncle was still a member of the Customary Council.

I myself also have a new activity, returning to education in college. He asked me to go back to study in college in Law major because, I need to train my brain and conscience to have a careful mind in making a policy and setting a regulation.

Well, even though I actually wanted to study in the field of International Relations, I complied with his request because in the end, when I became Sultan, I had to know the ins and outs of laws and regulations and their loopholes so that, I have knowledge when I try to make, and set policy with my other colleagues in the Customary Council one day.

Apart from learning in college again, I have another activities, taking care of my first child with mevrouw Sofia. His gender is male and he is now three months old. We named him Armin Hendra van Amsberg Sokolović.

In Bosnian, Armin means mighty warrior or universal , Hendra in Sundanese means message from God, van Amsberg is the name of my wife's royal house and, Sokolović is my mother's royal house name which in Bosnian means the child of an eagle so, our son's name means an eagle who's God's warrior and a messenger of God's universal message. Yes, we hope that our son can become someone who is brave in spreading the universal message of Islam even though he is confronted by the strongest enemies.

Mevrouw Sofia's delivery took place normally, without any complications and apart from that, our child has complete normal physical function. Both of these things are something that we need to show our gratitude for and one thing that really surprised me was, my son has gray eyes, his skin is white like a Caucasian, his face is similar to mevrouw's Sofia's face is just that his hair is black like mine. Heh, it seems that my son inherited more European genes that were found in both of us than the Indonesian genes that were prominent in my skin, hair and eye color. Well, that's okay. As long as my son can grow up to be a pious muslim and can respect and appreciate all kinds people regardless of their status, religion or skin color, that is more than enough for me.

After the delivery was over, both of mevrouw Sofia's parents gave their visit to congratulate us and give various gifts for us and our newborn child, they also congratulated my father on his coronation as the new Sultan of Sucilangkung.

Their visit here to meet us and their grandson was certainly not without controversy because, their visit gave rise to rumors that were spread by various Dutch mass media in the form of news about the possibility that they would convert to Islam and become a thorn on the King's side by manipulating him and overthrowing him who is still on the throne and turned the Netherlands into an Islamic kingdom and changed its name to Nederlandstan.

Why did these rumors appear? Basically, they are worried about the number of Muslims who are increasing every day due to the Dutch policy in the past which invited many guest workers from various countries in North Africa, especially from Morocco to stay in the Netherlands to repair the infrastructure of the Netherlands that were damaged because of the 2nd World War.

Apart from Moroccan immigrants, the number of Muslims there is also increasing due to the population of Indonesian diaspora who live there and also because of the large number of refugees that were coming from among Muslim majority countries who have settled there due to the refugee crisis that has occurred since 2010 until now that is caused by the wars that took place in various countries in the Middle East. This causes their concern about The Great Replacement Theory which states that the majority white population in Europe will be replaced by Muslims increasingly becoming real in front of them.
