POV Mr. Wisnu

I arrived at the supermarket looking for a prayer room first to perform the afternoon prayer and then buy the ingredients to make Sayur Asem, Ikan Asin, Sambal, yellow tofu, Tempeh, vegetables for Lalapan and other ingredients and supplies. I never thought mevrouw has likings for foods like this.

After finished buying the ingredients without wasting time, I immediately walked out of the supermarket, walked to the car, went inside, step on the gas pedaland drive back home as fast as possible. I feel my mood is cheerful because I will spend more time with her.

When I got home, I knocked on the door. mevrouw opened the door, helping me to bring that food ingredients to the kitchen. She asked me why I bought a lot of other ingredients and supplies. I answered those are for the purpose of eating together for a month.

I started to arrange the food for today, clean it and cut it up. However, in the middle of my work, mevrouw interrupted, she asked me to divide the ingredients in two because she wanted to help me. At first I refused. However, she insisted on telling me that she could cook on her own while she was staying at that dormitory. In the end I accepted her help.

After finishing cutting, we started cooking. Mevrouw was making the Sayur Asem under my direction. She started to boil the vegetables and while she waited for them to wilt and soften, I began making the Sambal. Her attention is sometimes diverted to me who diligently pressing the mixture of chili, garlics, shallots and other seasonings for the Sambal on the kitchen mortar using pestle. Maybe she was paying attention for how to make a good Sambal because she told me that she made Geprek Chicken for her friends, only she felt she failed to make the Sambal even though her friends said it taste good.

After several moments she stabbed some of the vegetable with the tip of a knife to check whether they were soft or not. After she was sure they were soft, she began to add the spices according to my direction and then after the smell cames out, she turned off the stove and I asked her to wait to cool down a bit.

I lift the pan from the stove, move it to another place then put the pan on the stove, heat the pan and start cooking the Sambal. After I feel it is cooked enough, I lift it up and transfer it to a small plate, then starting to dry the yellow tofu and Tempeh and put them on a plate after drained them. I asked mevrouw to arrange the Sayur Asam, Sambal, Lalapan, fried Tempeh and yellow tofu that we had made while I frying the Ikan Asin until they were cooked and I rested them and let them drain.

A few minutes passed, I put the Ikan Asin on the plate and took a basket of warm rice for the two of us, took it to the dining room and put it on the table. I looked at the clock, it was time for the dusk prayer. I sat on a chair and then the call to prayer echoed making me have to answer the call to prayer first and then eat with her.

"Alhamdulillaah, it's finished. Let's eat mevrouw."

"Thank you, Mr. Wisnu." she answered me then took the rice and side dishes. I just smiled watching her behavior while taking the food.

"Bismillaah." I said then spoon my food into my mouth. This food tastes very delicious compared to what I have eaten several days ago. Maybe because there is mevrouw here so it feels more fun because I'm not alone here.

"Mr. Wisnu, how does the Sayur Asem tastes?"

"Alhamdulillaah, it's delicious. Bedankt voor het eten, mevrouw (Thanks for the food, my lady ) ." I answered giving my smile to her.

"You're welcome." she smiled and replied me back.

We both finished our meals and then cleaned our plates. After finished, I asked her permission to perform the dusk prayer. She nodded and something unique happened.
