Fourth Grade

This year for the little family was a hard one. It started with Harry falling off the monkey bars at school. The group of friends were playing a game of truth or dare and Harry had to walk across the top of the monkey bars, however due to the morning rain they were slippery. When he fell he hit his head and landed bad on his leg. He broke his left leg and got a concussion. The panicked Tony who went to the hospital with Harry had trouble calming down. Gibbs had to help along with Brad Pitt, Tony's pulmonologist turned primary care doctor after his old one freaked out over the plague.

Harry ended up needing surgery on his leg but they had to wait until the swelling and concussion healed a bit. Unfortunately since this is the first time Harry has been in the hospital since he was rescued, some old memories came up. Tony and Gibbs had many sleepless nights in the next month when Harry had nightmares and needed to be reassured that he was not going anywhere. Luckily the 9 year old was still comfortable sleeping between his dads and slowly got better about sleeping in his own bed again. Another unfortunate thing with the broken leg was that because it was a full leg cast Harry had some trouble getting up at night to go to the bathroom leading to a couple accidents.

Slowly Harry learned to navigate the world on crutches and with the help of family and friends. He builds up some more arm strength and finds new ways to keep in shape with his papa like he has always loved doing. Jethro doesn't mind taking the extra time to teach Harry to navigate the world like this. He had to do the same thing as a marine a few times. This was the year that Gibbs began teaching Harry meditation. According to the books they have, that is the basis of Occulmancy which would be important. The skill has helped Tony immensely already.

School this year started on a couple new lessons as well. By now the kids were taking more classes than the mundane schools but they are building up to when they start middle school at age 11. One of the classes they began this year is a Wand Safety class where they were given training wands. These wants only worked with certain spells that could not be harmful such as Lumos and Nox. This helped not only teach the importance of safety but also developed and strengthened their magical cores. Harry had very easy time in this class after all the lessons on weapon safety his Daddy and Papa gave him. He knew the importance of safety and was more than respectful of it.

Another new class is Tradition/Etiquette/Holidays where they discussed the difference between mundane and wixen holidays. They began some of the practices and holidays such as giving small gifts to the old gods on holidays. This they learned helps to strengthen, renew, and replenish the magic in the land and in their cores. The kids began to become stronger and healthier. They also took classes on nobility and ballroom dancing. Harry especially had to pay attention to this for if he went back to England he would be a Lord of several families. His Daddy and Papa made sure to tell him everything he needed to know when he started this class so he knew how important it is.

After two months Harry went from a full leg cast to a half leg cast. This time he chose to have the cast an army green color. His friend Baxter was the first one to sign it which led to the whole class getting a chance. His Dad's team and some of their offices signed as well when he came with his Daddy to work the day they went to the office together. Another month after that Harry got a walking boot where he relearned how to do simple things like walking and balance. Harry had the support of his family to get through hard times though and was quick to recuperate.

Tony and Gibbs had a busy case that took months to solve because they weren't staying all night in the office like they used to. One stayed while the other went home to rest and take care of Harry. The group of Naval officers that were caught had sold government secrets to Russia in exchange for millions of dollars and high tech weapons. It took months for McGee to break the description software they used to send the classified documentation to the Russians. After two months of alternating back and forth of who would go home the team was exhausted.

They were given two weeks down time to rest up, relax, and most importantly recharge. Jethro and Tony used that time to take a short vacation to their Massachusetts home with Harry. They took a week there to relax and explore while Harry had April vacation from school. The second week they spent doing work around the house and in the shed.

The vacation to Massachusetts included a fun tour of Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry on the Greylock mountains. They got to see the campus, what the dorms are and what they mean and got a catalogue of the classes available. Harry had loved the creatures and the quidditch pitch. They even got to watch a game of quadpot. Jethro had no idea what was going on but he loved how happy Harry was. He knew he would do anything for Harry to keep that smile.

After noticing how stressed his Daddy and Papa had become after their big case, Harry started working with Jimmy and Breena to do something nice for them. After a couple weeks of planning, they decided to surprise them with a picnic in the park that Tony loved to go to. Together Harry and Breena made some food; Harry made the sandwiches while Breena made the mac and cheese, cut up the fruit and veggies and grabbed a basket. Harry grabbed his Papa's favorite blanket and put it in the basket as well. He put in a couple juice boxes and water bottles.

Harry convinced his Papa and Daddy to go to the park with him on the Saturday before they had to go back to work. They walked around and Harry played in the jungle gym. Jethro had taught Harry some fun games to play using the climbing structures similar to what he used to do. Around noon he pulled Tony towards the shaded area. He saw Breena sitting with the basket and waved to her.

"Hey Harry, here is everything you need. Have a good time guys." Breena said as she got up to hand over the basket.

"Thank you Bre! Daddy, Papa come on I got a surprise for you!" Harry said, grabbing the heavy basket. Jethro took the basket when he could see Harry was struggling a bit.

"What's all this little man?" Jethro said, holding Harry's hand while Tony grabbed the other. Harry dragged them over under his favorite tree. It was an oak tree that is perfect for climbing.

"I made us a picnic so we could have lunch out here today. Isn't it great Papa?" Harry asked as he grabbed the blanket to spread out on the grass. He sat down on the corner and pulled his Daddy down with him.

"It looks great Hare. What did you make us?" Tony asked, sitting down next to his son. He leaned down and kissed Harry's forehead, running his hand through his hair.

"I made the sandwiches. Even your favorites; an Italian sandwich for Daddy with mustard, a steak and cheese for Papa and a ham sandwich for me. Breena helped me make some mac and cheese and she cut up some fruits but there's no strawberry. We have watermelon, kiwi, and grapes. I also packed us some juice and water and Breena made carrots and cucumbers with ranch dressing for us." Harry said, pulling out the correct lunch boxes. They each had a bento box with a sandwich, some fruit, some mac and cheese and the veggies. The ranch was put in a separate container. Tony's lunch box was a Magnum PI bento box, Jethro's was a Marine bento box and Harry's had lightning bolts on his.

They spent the rest of lunch talking and eating their food. Harry at one point crawled into Tony's lap to have a cuddle and talk to him. As he was sitting in his lap, he started drifting off a bit. He did not need naps anymore but occasionally he liked to drift off in his Daddy's lap and relax. Tony and Jethro smiled at each other over his head and leaned in for a kiss. You can tell Harry was somewhat awake because his nose scrunched up when they did. He was still at the age where his parents kissing was yucky.

They spent a while at the park and then went home for the night. They set up movies and had some pizza for dinner. That night Harry slept between his dad's while Tony and Gibbs had one of the most relaxing nights of sleep. They shared a quick good night kiss and each kissed Harry's forehead before settling down for the night.
