Chapter 38: You're The One I Want To Love And Protect

It's a new day. It's about a quarter past twelve. One of the largest airports in New York. Natalia is waiting for her parents, Letitia and Anthony, who are about to arrive in New York from Mexico. The girl is not bored alone because Edward is with her. The lovers are a little nervous because they will have to explain the reason for their breakup and reveal all their secrets. Nevertheless, Edward and Natalia try to distract from the bad thoughts and start a talk about yesterday, sitting in the waiting room on metallic, uncomfortable chairs, keeping the fingers of their hands locked, and closely listening to all announcements.

"We spent a good time yesterday," Natalia says with a wide smile, putting one leg on another. "I hadn't hung out with my close people for ages!"

"Yeah, that was really cool!" Edward replies cheerfully, leaning back in the chair. "And I can say I finally got better for the first time in a while, That was what I needed!"

"Honestly, I forgot how it's great to play the fool with your close people. Of course, I spent time with girls, but that wasn't so good. Yesterday, I literally had fun to the fullest."

"I got kind of sad when we had to say goodbye and go home. I wanted that time to last as long as possible."

"I do know why," Natalia laughs shyly. "Because you had much fun and mocked your brother. Though, you two couldn't stop torturing each other! You only needed a reason to start sharing claps on the head."

"But I had fun!" Edward chuckles quietly. "I've always adored chasing my brother and kicking his gorgeous ass. While I didn't watch him, our handsome Terry got unleashed. So, I had to kick that rooster a little."

"I'm sure he told Raquelle the same, 'cause he's sure he keeps you on a short leash."

"Huh, he does think so! He may think whatever he wants, but my bro is under my control. He does whatever I tell him."

"Oh, it's so dangerous when two people want to get control of each other so badly," Natalia replies funnily, leaning back in the chair. "Because it's really gonna be a bomb!"

"I personally get pleasure from kicking Terrence's ass. You know how I lacked it!"

"You say it as if you reconciled with him for that."

"Not only for that, my love. But a chance to kick my brother was one of the reasons."

"So, you got it and can make up for the lost time."

"And I'll use it!" Edward promises confidently. "Because that's what I wanted! You know how long I didn't feel so good! Yesterday definitely gave me some strength."

"Yeah, I got it," Natalia laughs shyly.

"Probably, it's the first time I relaxed entirely. I never had fun to the fullest, 'cause something always held me down. Not only shyness..."

"It did," Natalia agrees thoughtfully. "You really seemed tense and discreet. But now you opened yourself a little and showed the real you."

"You're right. I wasn't myself before. I didn't show my real side. Because of my problems."

"It's true..." Natalia shrugs. "I dunno, maybe, you just felt uncomfortable in our company... You were shy 'cause you knew nobody... I understand how hard it is to join a company. It doesn't always happen. You may not be accepted."

"I partly agree with you. I didn't wanna look like an insolent, non-educated man and give a bad impression. So, I tried to be as shy as possible and be careful with my words. I didn't show all my emotions and feelings and kept many things inside."

"You know, sweetie, on the one hand, that's good you tried to show the best side of you. But on the other hand, you shouldn't have been too shy. You saw that Terrence, Raquelle, and their friends accepted you well. So, you could be a little braver."
