Chapter 6: Offer You Can't Refuse

3rd Person POV

"Can't we just skip school today?"

Said Y/N as him and MJ were walking towards his block.

"Nope" Answered MJ "To be fair I did warn you that we were going to your home to get your things, and then we go to school"

Y/N just looked at MJ with a deadpanned face before fully accepting his destiny, he was pretty tired and didn't sleep well, though he only had himself to be blamed for it.

MJ just stuck of her tongue mocking Y/N and kept walking, leaving the H/C guy with no other choice.

Something captured her attention and the girl couldn't help but ask.

"Why the gloves?" She said as she looked that Y/N was wearing fingerless gloves, that were covering his knuckles.

"Oh... I used to practice boxing and... This was what I used to cover my knuckles when I was at school, I guess eventually they became a part of me"

"I didn't knew you boxed, that's actually pretty cool"

Y/N looked at the floor feeling guilty for lying to her and wondering what would have happened if he didn't fight at the bar, probably he wouldn't have had the money to buy stuff to his sister and mother.

Which meant that they wouldn't have gone to the mall that day...

And his mother and sister would be alright.

Y/N just sighed and looked at MJ with a fake smile "Yeah... Anyway let's go"

Timeskip

After sometime the duo was already entering high school, Y/N already had his books and stuff from today in his backpack, some of the students couldn't help but look at them, some rumors are surely going to be spread about the two of them walking together.

After all, MJ was very popular despite being transferred recently, let's just say her looks did most of that part in that regard, nonetheless none of the students here really knew her except for one of them.

At that moment she turned to look at Y/N who was looking for his friends.

You know what? Make that two students who really know her.

"They aren't here" Said Y/N as him and MJ were walking through the hallways.

The redhead couldn't help but frown at Y/N's words in concern, but she tried to be optimistic for him "Well we are a little early after all, maybe they'll come later you know?"

He didn't answer her which caused MJ to be more concerned, so in an attempt to calm him down she gently took his hand in hers and squeezed it. Y/N went wide eyed at the sudden contact but calmed down when he realized that it was MJ holding him.

"I thought we left pretty clear that you are not alone" She said smiling at Y/N and for a moment she could swear she saw a blush on his face.

"Why does she make me feel so... At ease..." Is what he thought trying his best not to blush.

The two of them stared at each other's eyes like no one else existed, Both of them having in mind the same thoughts.

"He/She IS really easy on the eyes..."

But their thoughts were cut off when they heard a new voice speaking.

"Girl what are you doing here so early?"

With a blush on her face she immediately let go of Y/N and used her hand to scratch her neck in embarrassment as Y/N was looking away trying to hide his blush.
