Colby's POV

"Shit shit shit!" I hissed as Julia started seizing. I looked over at the monitors as I mashed the call button about a hundred times, while trying to keep Julia safe.

I knew it was entirely possible for Julia to have a seizure while in labor because it was a stressful thing, but I was hoping it wouldn't happen.

"What's going on?" Dr. Moore asked as she walked into the room. "She's having a seizure." I said as she nodded and paged someone quickly before coming over.

"How long has she been seizing?" She asked and quickly checked the baby's vitals along.

"Only thirty seconds or so. Is the baby okay? Is she okay?" I asked as someone came in with a bag of something.

"Baby is fine for now, we have to stop the seizure." She said quickly then put in a needle in Julia's arm, connecting her to the bag that the nurse brought in.

"Come on, sweetheart. Come on." I whispered then watched as Julia stopped seizing.

"We're gonna monitor her and the baby? But I think we stopped it fast enough. Great reflexes." Dr. Moore said as I nodded.

"Unfortunately used to it." I said and gently ran my fingers through Julia's hair.

I hated seeing my love struggling so much but I knew how strong she was and I knew how proud of herself she would be on the other side of all of this.

"Hmmm." Julia mumbled as her eyes crept open. "There you are." I said quietly, brushing her hair back.

"Is she okay?" She croaked out almost immediately. "Baby is alright, we're gonna keep monitoring both of you but she's okay for now." Dr. Moore explained as Julia's face relaxed.

"I'm sorry." She said then looked at me. "Don't apologize, sweetheart. You can't control them." I said as she reached for the cup of ice on her bedside table.

"Here." I said then grabbed it for her. "Thanks." She said then closed her eyes. "Try to get some rest, call if you need." The doctor said as I nodded.

"Thank you." I said then helped Julia eat some of her ice chips.

"I'm so proud of you. You know that?" I asked as she looked at me with hooded eyes.

I could tell she was exhausted and it was killing me because there was no real way I could help her.

"Fuck." Julia whispered as another big contraction hit, causing her to cry out in pain.

"Squeeze my hand as hard as you need. I'm here for you." I reminded causing her to squeeze my hand as hard as she could until the contraction let up.

"This is taking too long." She whimpered, collapsing onto the bed. "You're more than halfway there. She'll be here before you know it." I said then gently scratched her back.

The longer she was in labor the worse she would get. Time felt like it was moving in slow motion because every minute felt like an hour.

We were nearly 24 hours in at this point and Julia was totally spent.

She wouldn't even talk, she was just in so much pain and was so tired.

I tried my best to keep her comfortable but there was just no easy way to do that.

"Alright. Let's check you." A nurse said as she came in. We have been here for so long that our doctor had to take a break to sleep.

"Getting there! You're at eight." The nurse said as Julia snatched the ice cup that was on the nightstand and chucked it at the wall directly next to her.
