Lionel Messi: "The Office"

Lionel Messi sat on the grass of the Barcelona facility. Practice had just come to a close, and while the day had been a good one, when he saw Kat, everything changed. At first, Kat had smiled and waved at him and his heart fluttered happily in his chest and then Marc Bartra had stalked over and every ounce of his body shut down.

"Leo?" Gerard Pique said.

"Hmm?" Leo murmured.

Gerard stared down at his friend. He was rolling a ball around with his hands looking ever so upset.

"What's up?" Gerard asked.

"Nothing, why?" Leo countered defensively.

"It's just, usually the balls at your feet not hands, and you aren't sitting on the ground like your dog died." Gerard countered eying his friend.

Leo looked up and saw Kat and Marc bickering. Leo rolled his eyes and stood up. Gerard, however, took the time to see exactly what caught Leo's attention.

"I'm fine." Leo smiled.

"You sure?" Gerard questioned.

"Oh, yeah man, I'm good." Leo continued smiling this time.

Gerard nodded his head and watched as Leo waved at Kat and then went into the changing rooms. Gerard let all the pieces connect together and emitted a soft, "oh."

Leo drove home as he listened to some music that reminded him of his childhood, and then became one with the couch. He placed Netflix on and watched a show called, "Prison Break" with Spanish subtitles of course, no comprende ingles. After a few episodes, he became completely engrossed in the fictional life of Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows.

Leo jolted awake when his doorbell sound blasted through his eerily quiet and dark home. He yawned and walked to the door. Once opened, he found Kat on the other side. He immediately allowed her inside, and followed her to the kitchen where she grabbed some water.

"You okay?" Leo asked.

"No." Kat replied.

"What happened?" Leo asked.

Kat groaned.

"I went to surprise Marc at training earlier, and I thought it would be a nice thing, you know, but when I got there, he got all mad like he didn't want to see me. So, I just ignored it and we moved on and then I asked about it before bed, and he got mad. He started yelling at me that fiancées don't belong at the training ground and I could've gotten him into a lot of trouble and then I said that I've been there visiting you before, and he got so mad. Like, he was saying how I could've gotten you in trouble and then I left and had nowhere to go but here." Kat explained.

Leo stared at Kat and wondered what the hell went through Marc's brain. Everybody has had their partners there before.

"I'm sorry." Leo said finally.

"What do you think?" Kat asked.

"I mean, Shakira is there for Gerard and Neymar had Bruna there before, it's not like you walked on to the field mid practice. Coach doesn't really care what we do once training ends." Leo told.

Kat leaned on the kitchen's island and placed her head in her hands.

"Sometimes I feel like he's ashamed of me and doesn't want me around." Kat admitted.
