"Name?" I asked him even though I knew it

"Joshua" He chuckled

"Question, why do you ask me that every time, I'm pretty sure you remember my name by now?" He asked as he got his wallet out

"It's become a habit, and when my manager is here she assumes, I'm giving away free stuff if I don't do it" I told him as he tapped his card

"Fair enough" He said as he put his wallet in the back pocket of his jeans. I had no more customers so as Zoe Mae made his drink I went out to clear tables. It had been a quiet day so there wasn't much to do. I was making my way back to the counter after dropping off the dirty stuff in the kitchen, when I saw Joshua standing there.

"Need to order more?" I chuckled as I made my way to where he was at the counter

"No actually I had something to ask you." He said, I nodded to let him continue with what it was

"I was wondering if I could get your number so that if you wanted to I could take you out on a date?" He asked nervously, he kept switching between me and the floor

"I would love to" I smiled warmly, I could see the nervousness disappear and his expression become relieved and excited. I wrote my number on a napkin for him with a smiley face.

"I shall talk to you later then Alexandra" Joshua said as he made his way to the door putting a smile on my face.

"Finally ask you out did he?" Zoe Mae of course next to me as I watch him leave

"If you must know yes he did" I said as I got ready to leave by mopping the floors as it was empty and cleaning the counter tops and the glass cabinet that displayed the cakes.

"Ready?" I asked Zoe Mae when we had finished everything

"Yep" She smiled grabbing her coat, we said goodbye to the people taking over our shift and were on our way.

"D'you like him?" Zoe asked me when we were in the cab

"Hmm?" I hummed

"You heard me" She giggled poking my arm

"Do you?" I looked out the window of the cab before speaking

"No I don't fancy him but he seems nice and if he wants to take me out, I'd like to get to know him better" I said looking back at her

"Goodanswer, I rate that" She applauded me
