TWELVE

"My sunrise on the darkest day

"ZOE QUICK HELP ME! DO I LOOK OKAY?!" I shouted my voice travelling through the flat, I didn't care I couldn't figure out what to wear. Josh was taking me out on another date, it was dinner and a movie so I didn't want to look too casual, but nor did I want to be overdressed. I didn't have much time right now I was wearing a cropped turtle neck top, with long sleeves and white jeans. I could hear Zoe jogging over,

"Help me" I pleaded

"He'll be here in half an hour and nothing feels right" I said

"First of all, that top does not go with those jeans and you can't wear that to a restaurant." She said, this was the kind of help I needed.

"What do I wear then?" I asked and she walked over to my wardrobe. She slid things to right after inspecting them and deciding they were not appropriate for the occasion. She came away with two dresses, four tops, a skirt and about 5 pairs of jeans. She held each one up in front of me, she looked at me while I looked in the mirror. We decided on black jeans with slits at the knees and a white silky blouse loosely tucked with a few buttons undone. To go with the outfit, I wore my baby pink bomber jacket with baby pink 95's.

"My work here is done" Zoe Mae applauded herself. I gave her a hug,

"Thank you!" I breathed out in relief as we let go of each other. I already had my makeup done, very simple makeup, foundation, powder, eyebrows, contour, highlight and mascara. I didn't want Josh to see me all the time with heavy makeup because I feel fake because that's not what I usually wear, most days I wear just my eyebrows or if I feel bothered I'll do what I'm wearing now. I finished up my hair by brushing it out again and splitting the top half and tying it into a loose bun. I heard someone knock at the door, I shouted to Zoe Mae to answer as I was just finishing up making sure I had everything I needed, when I was sure I was ready I walked out seeing Zoe and Josh having a conversation, he smiled when he saw me.

"Hello, I see you've met Zoe Mae" I said

"Yes he has and I approve of him" She said and walked away from the door, I nervously giggled at her comment. I looked up at a smiling Josh,

"You look great" He said putting his hand in his pockets. He was wearing a button up shirt with black jeans and a zip up hoodie unzipped.

"Thank you" I smiled at his words.

"Let's go" He said holding his hand out for me to follow him. We walked down the stairs and out into his car, as he did last time he opened the door for me to get in.

"Where to first?" I asked

"I booked an Italian restaurant and then I have tickets to go watch 'IT'" He said as he put his keys in the ignition

"Seriously, 'IT'?" I replied

"Yeah" He smiled

"That is probably the only horror film I wasn't planning on watching, I'm absolutely terrified. I watched the original as a kid with Callum when our parents went out and I completely shat myself" I said absolutely shitting myself but I didn't want to make him feel bad about picking that film.

"It's okay because we're gonna have Italian food!" He said as if it fixed it

"Oh yes thank God, I was thinking there wouldn't be any Spaghetti in this situation," I said sarcastically rolling my eyes then both of us laughed.

"By the way you're not paying for this one" I said setting my menu aside after we had ordered,

"Sorry?" He replied

"I said I'm not letting you pay" I repeated

"I know what you said, I'm saying sorry because I'm not gonna let that happen" He chuckled

"At least let me pay half" I said

"Why?" He asked picking up his glass of Water

"Because the last time you took me out it seemed very expensive, you could be a millionaire, I feel bad letting you pay for everything" I replied

"And I feel bad letting you pay, I asked if I could take you out so it kinda means paying" He said setting his glass down again

"Okay, then. Right now we're on a date that you asked to take me out, when the bill comes for the food the date is put on hold until paid. So I have to pay for my half then" I said, he looked at me shaking his head

"If it means that much to you then we can split it" He chuckled, I smiled back

"Thank you" I smiled happily.
