Claytin gave Clara a look. "Do we need to get Adrianna down here?" "No, I need to tell you first... um, well... you and Adrianna are going to New Orleans by the end of this week..." Clara said, slightly stuttering. "I'm sorry what? I thought I told you, I'm not leaving, not without you telling me what was going on!" Claytin said frustrated. "I know what you said but I am just trying to protect you and Adrianna!" Shane comforts Adrianna. "Just keep calm, Adri. It won't be for too long," he says. "Why are they fighting?" she asked listening as they heard them transfer from english to french as they started raising their voices at each other. "It's just a couple's thing," says Shane. "Couples argue sometimes. In their case, most of the time." "You know I understand french, I know everything they are saying... I forgot how many cuss words there were in the world..." Adrianna said. Shane winces. "Then I guess this is just a really sensitive topic," he says. "Mama wants me and papa to go to New Orleans but papa doesn't want to go..." Adrianna said listening from her cracked open door while sitting on her bed. "I don't blame him," says Shane. "I mean, you all just moved in here, and now you're gonna have to leave for a while. But I'll keep you safe. I promise." "What is mama trying to protect us from? She won't say..." Adrianna asked getting up and going to the door, trying to hear more clearly. "A dangerous force," says Shane. "Something that I'm afraid you won't understand." "Is mama doing something stupid? She says you do stupid things a lot..." Shane smiles. "I feel like, for the first time in our lives, we've switched roles. I'm the one doing something smart while Clara does something stupid," he says. "Claytin! Why can't you understand why I am doing this?!" "Why can't you understand why I am refusing?!" Adrianna closed the door. She went over to her closet and grabbed something, the vial with her magic. "Would this help? If I had this would they let me stay?" Shane sighs. "I don't know. I honestly do not know, Adri," he says. "I'm sorry." She put the vial on her desk. "I'll keep it with me, just in case. Thank you for staying with me threw this. They'll calm down, they always do. They can't stay mad at each other for over three hours, except for the one time he and I left the cabin for a few days," Adrianna said. "Yeah, they were fuming," says Shane. "Papa won't come, will he? He'll stay hiding in Paris without mama knowing..." Adrianna said. Shane shrugs. "Dude's about as stubborn as Clara is. There's no way he'd actually leave her." Adrianna nodded, "Do you know how long it will be? Until I'd see them again?" Shane removes his cap. "There's no telling how long it'll be," he says. "But I hope it doesn't take too long. Whatever happens, you'll be safe." "I rather be in danger with my parents then protected without them..." Adrianna muttered before running out of her room. "Adri..." Shane sighs.

Clara came up a few seconds later, "Can you explain why my daughter just ran off to her collection? I get Claytin and I were fighting but she has never reacted that way before..." Shane puts his cap on as he walks over to Clara and Claytin. "She thinks that if she accepts her magic, you'll let her and Claytin stay."Well, we both know that neither Claytin or I would let her stay anyways. And she left her magic us here so at least she is being logical with her thinking and not just emotional with it. Claytin just went down to try and talk to her, I am just hoping she lets him down. This shouldn't be as complicated as it is..." "Clara, I'm afraid that things are only gonna get more complicated from here," says Shane. "I know. It reminds me how uncomplicated my life was as a villain," Clara sighed leaning against the wall. "Yeah, I understand that. But there's no fun in everything going smoothly," says Shane. "Sometimes, you need that rush of adrenaline." Clara raised an eyebrow at him. "Yeah because basically being controlled by Markus and then having to take over all of France with the villain kids that annoy me and use me, not to mention the fact that I have to live and deal with my father again, just gives me so much adrenaline that I need." Shane shrugs. "Yeah, in retrospect, that was a poor choice of words," he says. "Ya think?" Clara said rolling eyes. She turned slightly, "Did she let you down?!" Clara called down to Claytin. "No! But still trying!" he yelled back up. "Well, maybe it was a bad idea to let her be around my stubbornness..." Clara muttered. "She's just scared. I don't think it's a good idea to keep something this big from her," says Shane. "And how do you tell an under mature ten-year-old that her mama is going to take over France with a bunch of villain kids that could end making her a villain again?" Clara asked with a sarcastic tone. Shane shrugs. "Sounds more like a you problem," he says. "Which is why I'm not telling her. She doesn't need to know what is happening. I mean, I am waiting until after it's all over to tell Claytin details," Clara said sighing. Shane folds his arms. "Well, I don't know what to do. I don't think I'll be able to convince her. Frankly, I feel like she wants to help you," he says. "And she helps by being safe! Seriously Shane, could you do what I am doing knowing Charlene's life could end at any given moment and you couldn't stop it or know about it?" Clara asks crossing her arms. Shane looks down and sighs. "No," he says. "I couldn't. I value her way too much. If anything were to happen to her, I would never forgive myself." He sits on the couch and rubs his temples. "Exactly, and that's how I feel about Claytin, Adrianna and even you. And during the takeover do you really think I will know everything that is going on? I can do my best but if Markus or the others found out I was married or had a daughter?! Or if my father found out?! They'd lock Claytin and Adrianna up. Torture them, kill them, use them against me! And if they get caught even if they don't know how I am related to them, they could be in cells and I wouldn't know. And no, I am not overreacting!" Clara said annoyed. Shane nods in agreement. "Yo, Claytin! How's things going down there?!" "Still won't let me down! She is being stubborn, don't know if I am surprised or not!" Claytin called up. Clara sighed, "Anyone else getting the feeling that letting her have a room with magical items that only she can access was a bad idea?" Shane gets up. "Can I go speak with her?" he asks Clara. "If you can get her to open the basement door, then go ahead," Clara said going downstairs where Claytin was standing at the basement door.
