Justin

"Yes mom, it's just a little get together with the new people Brooke met at school. She thought it would be a good idea for me to be there with her. It's at 10 o'clock tonight," I lie to my mom. My mom and I never keep secrets but every since i found that letter in her pocket, we haven't really been talking.

"Justin, I'm not really sure about this," my mom says walking into the family room. "You know how cruel kids can be, I just don't want anything bad to happen,"

"Please, Brooke wants me to go. If you don't want me to go, I guess I'll just stay in my room all day and smoke the rest of my cigarettes like the loner freak you think I am," I pout, slowly walking out the room.

"Wait!" She says loudly, catching my attention

Yes! I thought to myself before turning around.

"Yes mom?"

"I suppose you can go but I want you back home at midnight, no later." She speaks sternly. Pointing her finger in my face.

"Ok! I promise mom," planting a soft kiss on her cheek as I make my way upstairs.

I wanted to go to the party looking pretty good. I mean, this night had to be my big come back. I have to learn to get over the past. If I don't, I'm going to be stuck. Stuck in this world where I believe everything is bad. In a world that my uncle made so clear to me. I remember him telling me something before he died. He said, "Justin, my nephew, I'll never be able to forgive myself for the horrible things I made you do. But if you don't remember one thing about me, at least remember this; the things I did when I was alive was because of my job. I regret ever hurting those people, but mostly, I regret hurting you."

Removing the thought from my mind I decided what I wanted to wear for the party. Something that will catch people's attention. I just hope no one remembers.

Please, no one remember. I thought to myself.

Brooke

"This guy named Liam wants me to come over to his house tonight to help him with the work we got in Mrs. Ryan's class. She's our performance teacher and our new assignment is to write a song." I say lying. Lying has always been something that I've been good at. It's a natural born gift. Well when it actually works. I've never been able to get away with lying when it came to my dad. I remember one time when Hanna and I got fake IDs from some kid at school and we went to a club. We got totally waisted and lied and said we went to a friends house to study for a test. When my dad found out, I got grounded for two month, on top of that, I got the, 'I'm an adult and you're the child' lecture.

"Brooke, you can go. Just don't do anything you're going to end up regretting. I mean... You know what I mean,'' She says.

''If you're secretly trying to tell me not to go there and act like a slut, you're wrong! I wouldn't have sex with that boy if you paid me a million dollars,'' I say, little did she know that I was being 100% for real. Liam is good looking and all, but I'd never look at him in that type of way.

''Good to know,'' she says walking out of the the kitchen to the staircase.

Yes!

Narrator

So Justin and Brooke each got dressed at their houses. Both of them hoping to look good enough that they'd make a huge impression. The two teens were both awfully scared though. Justin, being scared because he was afriad that people would remember what happen, scared that maybe people would remember his infamous uncle that caused a huge ouburst in Canada. All the while, he remembered what his mother told him. ''Justin, it's been two years. I doubt anyone remembers.'' Those words played in his head. Over and over again. Brooklynn, she was scared because she didn't want anything to go wrong. She knew that Ashley despised of her and she was hoping that Ashley's hate for her, wouldn't cause a huge scene over something irrelevent as a boy. Even though Brooke had only been in Canada for a short amount of time, she was amazed at how quickly Liam start showing her attention, because Brooke never did anything that gave him the wrong impression. She never did anything to lead him on, yet he still gave her he attention you'd expect a boy to give his girlfriemd. What would Ashley think? Continued to repeat itself in her head. As the two teens continued to think about their situations, they finished readying themselves for the day to come.
