Brooke

"I'm glad you all decided to come. I hope you enjoyed everything." aunt Kelly uttered, allowing a giggle to slip her lips.

"Everything was fantastic Kelly. Thanks for having us over," Pattie replied in the same tone as aunt Kelly.

"No problem, you have a nice night," aunt Kelly responded.

"You too," Pattie replied.

With that, aunt Kelly latched the door close and made her way into the dining area.

"Now what was that about! You guys are acting like something is wrong, so spill," she huffed, pulling the chair from under the table and taking a seat.

I guess she had noticed the tension between us all. Em and I were both pissed at Ashton and how he thought it was a genius idea to leave us, his friends, to go over to Ashley's house with a group of her friends he didn't even semi know. It set us both on edge, and we'd been pretty rude to him ever since.

"It's Ashton! He-- Never mind, it's nothing worth getting an attitude over. I'm really sleepy and I- I just want to go to bed," I spoke quickly, getting up from my seat and pushing it under the table.

"Same, I just need a hot shower, and to go to sleep," Em added, standing up from her chair and repeating the actions that I had just did.

Without bothering to wait for aunt Kelly to respond, or for Ashton to dismiss himself from the table, Em and I had already made our way to the staircase. I heard uncle Joey whisper something to Ashton. I couldn't exactly make out what he whispered, but I think it was, "Don't worry, girls are always crabby at night; hell, every time." Ignoring his ignorant remark, I followed Em up the stairs.

"Brooke, spill. Why have you been acting so strange? I mean I know you have a thing for Ashton, but every since last night at Rene's, you've been upset. Like giving off negative energy," she said honestly, slipping her pants and shirt off. Leaving herself in her undergarments It wasn't awkward or anything because we've been friends for ages.

"So you know at the cottage?" I asked looking at her shove her dirty clothes inside my hamper.

"Yes,"

"Well, after the kiss, all those things Ashton said to me I believed. Then when we got to the diner, he pretended that nothing happened. I felt hurt when he just left and went with Ashley. I thought th kiss meant something to him. I thought I meant something to him," I sobbed, taking a seat on the edge of the bed.

Em let out a giggle before running into the bathroom.

"I didn't know you felt that way Brooklynn. I would never do anything to hurt you, or make you upset; Ever," a familiar voice echoed in my head.

Ashton walked in my room and sat beside me, allowing his arm to swing over my shoulder.

"It just felt like the kiss didn't matter to you anymore,"

"Well, it did. I'll prove just how much it meant to me," he chuckled. Placing his hand on my chin and softly allowing our lips to meet. I felt a spark shock the surface of my lips as they met his. It felt amazing. My eyes latched shut and the kiss captivated my mind. I could feel my heartbeat slowly starting to increase, as my lips had made themselves fit perfectly against his.

"Ok, it was cute at first, but now it's just getting disgusting. You two should get a room," Em replied laughing lightly. She had been watching us from the bathroom.

Ashton separated his soft lips from mine and blushed at Em's remark.

"I should be heading to my room. I'm pretty sleepy," he added, standing up from my bed and walking over to the door. He leaned against the door frame and smiled slightly more than he has ever before. "Night Brooke," he smiled, blushing heavily.
