The tower of..

quarantine day 2

Richi walked downstairs and looked over at the tent. The kids were still sleeping.

"What are you doing?!" He asked Heiko. Who was already awake.
"Good morning to you too!" Heiko responded.
"Morning... so explain me why you are sleeping on the ground.."
heiko explained the story. "Oke that's cute.. now come help me make breakfast!"
"I can't"
"why can't you help me?"
"Look!"

Richi walked closer to the tent and saw that the little one was sleeping with her head on Heiko his shoulder.

"You don't want to wake her do you?" Said heiko.
"Just move her.."
"hmm... FINE".

Heiko moved her head off his shoulder and sat up while pulling a painful face.

"Soar back?"
"I think I am too old to be sleeping on the ground" he said softly.

He got up and walked towards the kitchen.
"So.. what are we making chef?" Asked Heiko.

Richi was usually the best cook in the house. Richi gave heiko a recipe. "Croissants" said richi while trying to do a french accent. He failed miserably at it. Heiko laughed at the horrible sound of it. "And chocolate bread" richi continued ignoring the fact that Heiko just laughed about his horrible accent. "And pancakes with fruit.."
"sounds great!" Said Heiko.

He helped Richi making the bread and pancakes. When they put everything in the oven they both sat down at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee.

"How is your back now?" Asked Richi.
"Old"..

Richi rolled his eyes at Heiko. A few minutes later they heard that the kids had woken up.

"Let's scare them" whispered Richi. He walked up the stairs, hung above the tent and made a "scary monster" sound. The kids screamed and ran out the tent while laughing.

"Good morning my adventurers" said Richi with a smile. How about breakfast?" He asked the kids.

They all walked to the kitchen. The other adults had already woken up as well and were drinking coffee in the kitchen. Heiko smiled at richi.
"What?" He asked.
"That was not a scary monster sound.. more like a sleepy dinosaur.."

richi pulled a silly face towards Heiko while he was giving the kids their pancakes. When he was done he sat back at the kitchen table.

"SO.. what are the plans for today?"
"Staying inside" said Heiko.

Richi looked over at Heiko with a disappointed facial expression. But he did find it funny. You could tell this on the way he moves his eyebrows. He always lifts them when he tries not to laugh. Heiko stood up an walked over the to kids sitting at the kitchen counter.

"So.. I have a dare for you" he said.
The kids were all ear and very excited to hear what the dare was.
"I dare you, to build the highest stack of pancakes possible"
"Are you also competing?" Asked one of the kids.
"Sure. We go in teams"

They all started fighting who could be on Heiko his team.

"Richi also has one team! He just doesn't know it yet" he whispered. The kids laughed.

They all chose a team.

"Richi!! Come here" said Heiko.
Richi walked over. "What?"
"You are team captain of Team 2. And we are competing in who can build the highest stack of pancakes"
before Richi could say anything to it, started Heiko the countdown.

"3...2....1.... GO"

and they all started stacking their pancake tower. "HEIKO! Don't teach the kids to play with their food" said Richi.
"Come on... have fun" said Heiko.
"We are winning said the little one on Heiko his team.
"NOT today" said richi who now also helped stacking their tower.

At some point the towers started to lean, and they gave up. Till walked over and said:
"AND THE WINNER IS.... TEAM RICHI" "CONGRATS!"

Team Heiko started to make disappointed sounds towards Team richi. And team Richi was super excited.
LSo what is our price?!" Said richi with an evil laugh.
"DOING THE CLEAN UP!" Said Heiko who lifted up the little one from the table and ran towards the tent. "THIS IS THE SAFE SPOT! You can't come in here" yelled Heiko at Richi.
Richi had to laugh about it.
"Well.. that's not a fun price. I think the winning team deserves some ice cream later on!"
Team richi cheered. Heiko walked out the tent and said:
"oke.. Let's make a deal. I will clean this up, but then the others from team Heiko also get ice cream."
"That sounds fair.." said richi.
Heiko started cleaning up the mess. Richi came to help.
"I don't help you because I feel bad, I only help because I know you are a horrible cleaner"
Heiko laughed..
"I know you feel bad" he said with a little smile.
