Spring Two: Of Accident & Coincidence

..~*+*~*+*~*+*~..

“It was an accident,” I said calmly and composedly in front of the reporters.

Rainbow Entertainment finally decided to hold a press conference for Onyx and me to present our side.

“An accident?” Reporter Kim asked. “Are you saying that you accidentally expressed your feelings in the middle of the plaza?”

I shook my head and glanced at Onyx. He was looking at the reporters with a blank expression. Leche. Kung may darling of the press, meron ding monster of the press at si Onyx iyon.

“I came from an event and was about to find my manager, but I broke my heel while walking down the stairs. Onyx happened to be passing by and I accidentally fell on him,” I said.

There were series of oohs and aahs from the press.

“Onyx Young was passing by? Then where did he come from? Aren’t all talents of Rainbow Entertainment supposed to be in that event?” pangungulit ni Reporter Kim. Leche, I never did like him. Masyado siyang mausisa!

And… OMG, lagot. Because I said Onyx was passing by, baka maungkat ang tungkol sa pagtakas niya sa event at pakikipag-away sa isang grupo ng mga kalalakihan!

“I got bored,” simpleng sabi ni Onyx. “I don’t like parties, so I left early.”

“Then how do you explain the bruises on your face?” tanong ni Reporter Kim.

OMG, ang sarap niyang batuhin ng takong!

I glanced at President Xin nervously, pero biglang nagsalita si Onyx. “Ang bigat kaya ni Aya.”

Nanlaki ang mga mata ko. I glared at him. “Excuse me?” I snapped.

I whispered through gritted teeth.

He leaned on me and whispered back, “Just go along with it.”

“Gago.”

“Watch what you say. We’re in front of the press.”

“You watch your insults,” I snapped quietly.

Hindi kumbinsido si Reporter Kim. Leche, sabi ko na eh! Maghahanap at maghahanap ito ng butas! “So are you saying that your face hit the ground when Aya Zhu fell on you? I remember seeing you lying on your back.”

“Well, how far were you from us? Maybe you didn’t see it clearly when Aya’s fingernails went scratching my face” malamig na sabi ni Onyx sa kanya.

This time, pinanlakihan ko na siya ng mata. I leaned and whispered. “I didn’t scratch your face,” I snapped quietly.

“Sakyan mo na lang kung gusto mong matapos na ito,” he snapped back quietly.

Reporter Kim didn’t seem to buy our story, but he also couldn’t think of a good comeback or question. After the presscon ended and every reporter left, I rounded on Onyx.
