(light smut warning for you hornies- although we all don't mind (*/ω\*)

We sat around a dinner table, particularly the one in Grey's house. Mrs. Black had been kind enough to get us this meal and then left to 'run an errand', I appreciate her giving us privacy under the façade of running an errand. Cami was with us and Marina's incessant whining was finally put to a halt upon seeing Cami's good health.

It strangely felt fulfilling with all of us together, a kind of satisfaction and fulfillment that I'd been a stranger to. I mean it did always feel nice with Jace and Grey, but Cami's presence filled a void that I didn't even know existed.

She kissed Jace, and I don't even care that it wasn't me, she's growing closer to us and that's what matters, me and her- we'll get to the kissing point eventually but I was impatient. Marina was continuously looking at Cami like a smitten puppy, through my eyes and her desire for Cami was unexpected and honestly felt insatiable.  I shouldn't be embarrassed about wanting my mate, but what Marina was 'wanting' made heat travel to my cheeks, and I quickly dismissed her thoughts.

"Aspen got your tickets booked, you'll leave in four hours", said Grey to Cami and Jace, who had to leave.

Ah, why did they have to leave, I whined to myself. I understood that the pack's safety was a much larger concern, but I couldn't help but be concerned for my mates' safety first. Although Cami has assured me that it won't be dangerous, I didn't want to be away from them for such a long time.

"Okay, Jace start packing after dinner", Cami reverted while sipping on her drink.

Jace hummed in response and said, "Yep, I will"

"Cami, how do you know about the secares?", asked Grey curiously. Frankly, I'd been wondering about this too but Grey cut me to the chase.

Cami seemed surprised at the question and a little smile made its way to her face. She said, "Oh, my mum used to be fanatically into these things, we had ancient encyclopedias regarding these subjects at our house" while reminiscing about that.

She used past-tense while talking about her mom, she also used to be rogue, so I can't imagine anything pleasant that happened, but I could be wrong- I hoped to the goddess that I was wrong. This is the first time she's mentioned her parents, or anything about herself before joining our pack, so I won't push her for more yet.

"Mum even had some witch friends who shared the same interests, I was hoping to get the stones from one", Cami continued.

"And where will you find them?", I asked her.

"The ocean, near the ocean to the West. It's an isolated area where supernatural life flourishes but it's far off", Cami said solemnly.

The rest of the dinner passed in comfortable conversation and jokes. Cami even laughed at Jace's idiotic jokes, although I'm pretty confident that she was only trying to keep his heart, all the while I wanted to smack him with the spaghetti on my plate. The atmosphere felt simply comfortable and liberating with us all together like we didn't even have to try to make it work, it all just fit in by itself.

Even in the cheery air, I couldn't help but notice Grey being spent, entirely spent but trying to keep going. He hadn't been sleeping well, and I even had to shake him awake from a nightmare a few nights ago. He'd begun to develop dark circles under his eyes from the lack of sleeping and didn't take care of himself because of the fatigue. The physical and mental impact on Grey from the war was becoming evident, slowly but surely.
