This series is a first-person version of the story with the same name. I decided to change the narration because I liked my main character's voice. Her style is funny and staying in her point of view keeps the suspense tight, and the mystery moving. Since this draft is supposed to be a young adult, I thought first-person is the main thing in most YA books. Not all of them are good, but they serve their purposes, including helping the readers connect to the characters. For this version, I want my readers to experience what my character goes through as she tells her own story. The main plot in the first book will remain the same, except the prose will be in first-person and I changed most of the scenes to fit in my character's narrative. As for the third-person version, I will stop working on it so I can focus on this version. If you want to check out the third-person draft, that is fine, but the first-person will be my focus. I also have a Werewolf Cheerleader short story published in Tales of Dungeons, All Hallows. I wrote it in first-person, which inspired me to change the writing style. Here is the link:

Here is my original foreword from the third-person draft so you can catch up on what inspired me to write this story.

I love werewolves. Who else doesn't?

I became fascinated with werewolves since I watched American Werewolf in London. Although the movie scared the crap out of me, I enjoyed the transformation sequence and the dark humor. Other werewolf films I enjoyed are Underworld, Dog Soldiers, and The Howling.

To me, werewolves are better monsters than any other creature in the horror genre. They are strong, sexy, fearless, immortal, and they can live among humans. Other monsters, sought as vampires, can only move around at night, and they have more weaknesses than werewolves. Of course, monsters can be anything depending on the author. But if I had to choose which monster I have to become without given a choice to refuse, I would become a werewolf.

I am also a fan of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV series during the 90s. As a guy, I like hot girls fighting bad guys who are strong with unique skills.

As a Buffy fan, I asked other fans on the internet what would happen if Buffy became a werewolf. They said a slayer cannot become a werewolf, but if possible, she would become powerful.

I liked that idea. So much, I wrote my own werewolf slayer from the Buffyverse. However, instead of writing a Buffy fanfiction, I wanted to make my character original in her own universe. Like Buffy, she is a cheerleader who fights monsters while dealing with her ordinary life. Unlike Buffy, she becomes a monster herself like Teen Wolf. You can say she is the combination of Buffy and Teen Wolf. But even so, she is unique in her own story.

My beta readers enjoyed my first draft, and that motivated me to expand the story into a series with different villains and strange mysteries. It will have horror, comedy, romance, hot cheerleaders, and monster battles. I hope you will enjoy this series if you are into monster B-movies. Gooooooo werewolves!
