BIRDIE POTTER WAS confused yet kind of excited to be back at Hogwarts, confused because — well, her best friend's not here anymore, she's gonna have to plan a whole different routine now, and excited because — it's Hogwarts, duh. As the girls left the train compartment, they were immediately met with the carriages lined up — Birdie had heard that the carriages had some sort of animals driving them or something, but she'd never actually seen one of those, she figured it was just some bullshit the older kids made up to scare the first years, she had done her fair share of that afterall.

Like that one time she convinced a first year that all the ghosts turn into vampires at night and get extreme bloodlust, the first year had to be completely daft or something because how the hell would a bloody ghost stick their fangs in your neck, amateurs.

Birdie was pretty quiet most of the carriage ride, mainly because all the rain spoiled her mood - look rain looks pretty and all but dealing with it is such a nightmare, you get mud everywhere, and your socks wet. Birdie hates getting her socks wet. It's absolutely disgusting. Anyway, after the carriage ride and trying everything in their power to stay dry while making their way into the castle, the girls let out a breath of relief.

"Isn't it weird how they have the time to enchant the ceilings but the outside so we don't get wet?" Regan said grumpily, taking out her wand to use a few drying spells on her hair, Birdie always hated how the Blacks were blessed with perfect hair, meanwhile she doesn't get to decide what she wants to do with her hair, it decides itself.

"Probably because they don't want to waste time on keeping us happy" Hope joked, "Or maybe they were busy setting up more death traps around the castle"

"Honestly" Donna agreed with an exhausted look, "One of these days my klutzy arse is gonna fall off these enchanted stairs"

"Once in our second year, Lorelei and I almost fell off the stairs because it started moving right as we were about to step up to our dorms" Birdie said with a grimace, remembering the almost heart-attack she had that day.
