I kept the flower in the drawer and started with my routine while thinking of everything. Arthur would be leaving along with the Alpha in disguise. I didn't know much about the plan but it would be a good riddance. I had no intention of seeing him, I was rather afraid.

When Estelle invited me for tea in her room, I wasn't suspicious. It was an easy setting to avoid the worried gazes and affectionate words everyone related to this body had for me. I was sick of it for I knew they weren't for me but the original owner. If they knew the truth, would they still be the same?

Dressing up in the first simple plain dress, I found in the wardrobe I went out.  I knew the way as the maid had already told me.

I wasn't in the mood to appreciate the traditional architecture and art, impatiently I knocked on the door eager to find answers to my questions. The door slowly opened but it wasn't Estelle who was there but Arthur.

Arthur seemed suprised, he didn't really expect to see me. I closed my agape mouth as I saw Estelle behind him, sitting with a cup in her hand and smile on her face.

"I called for her Arthur, I wished to meet your future mate," she said.

"I guess you just saved my time," he said stepping aside.

Reluctantly I sat on the chair between them, the refreshing smell of tea leaves soothed my mind.

"We will talk of that later," he said looking towards Estelle.

"That would be an unpleasant thing to talk about," she said and sipped the tea. "Let's talk about your mate."

I would have choked on the biscuit in my hand if I ate it. I couldn't help but glare, of course she had to pretend and act.

Arthur smirked and looked at me. I was confused. "It's a long story," he said glancing sideways, "rather, how did you two meet?"

"I found her in the forest, in a hunting trap. As you know I was living with rogues to hide, they brought her to me."

As I recalled his previous lines which called everything fate, he doesn't really believe that. Was he just trying to appease me before?

"I couldn't help but be curious that how the most precious people I was looking for came to me themselves and together," he said taking a sip.

"Maybe it really was fate," said Estelle her lips curled into a forced smile.

Suddenly something touched my hand kept at the chair's arm, flinching I looked towards Arthur surprise by the act. It reminded me of the first time we met and he tried to deceive me.

"Why did you go to the forest?" he asked, his thumb drawing circles in the palm of my hand.

He was suspicious, who wouldn't be? The love for his sister won't make him dumb. I couldn't think of anything but soon remembered that I had heard someone crying it was the truth.

"I heard someone crying, I thought someone was lost," I confessed slowly withdrawing my hand.

"I guess you still have the habit of saving people, first your friend and now this. How come you never realise that in the end it's only you who gets injured?"

I took the harsh remark patiently, controlling the urge to tell it wasn't me.

His freed hand moved towards my hair as he caressed them and said, "Now that you are mine, of course I won't let you get injured."

I shuddered inwardly, the time when he didn't care about me was better.

"I don't care about my mate," I reiterated his previous words, looking into his eyes with defiance. "This is what you told me  before." Not standing up will only make me be devoured later on.

"I only care about things that are mine," he said, his gaze fixed at me, unblinking. "And now, you are mine."

"I—"

Someone knocked at the door just then and I stopped to turn and check. Before I could get up to escape from here, he got up.

"I think I don't have much time," he said slowly tucking my hair and bowing before us.

"We will wait for you," said Estelle as she got up and hugged him.

"And I will surely come back," he replied letting go.

I didn't even leave my seat as he looked at me waiting for me to do the same. I won't take a sword myself to stab me.

"I will pray that you come back without getting hurt," I said nervously, avoiding his piercing gaze.

He bent down to my ear level and I turned as I could feel his breath. "You can check yourself for the injuries, I won't mind," he whispered and left.

What the heck did he just say? I can't change the fact that my mind is too far from pure after reading all those books but he hasn't possibly read them. No, it's only me who is overthinking. I regained my composure as I saw Estelle sit back.

"Why did you call me?" I asked.

"To see both of you together and clear things up," she said smiling at my annoyance.

"Your dear brother doesn't necessarily believe you," I mocked taking a bite of the biscuit kept on the table.

"Because he's not foolish," she said with a smirk similar to Arthur. They both were indeed siblings. "You did pretty well, I guess my Frederic unknowingly helped you."

"Who is Frederic?" I asked. I had never heard that name before.

"My son, the person you heard crying," she replied.

"Wait, what? You never told me about nor it was mentioned," I exclaimed recalling the contents of the book.

"It wasn't necessary," she replied calmly.
