Alec's POV

Frustration. According to the dictionary, it's the feeling of being upset or annoyed as a result of being unable to change or achieve something. To me, it's one of the worst feelings you can experience.

I'm a man who likes to be in control. I like to know what's going on around me and my opponent's strategies so I know what my next move should be. But in the current situation I feel like I have little to no control, and that frustrates me.

I had to get out the interrogation room before the rest, leaving David and Sadie inside. That woman was just getting on my nerves, always repeating the same answer no matter what we asked. It took everything in me to not grab my gun and put a bullet through her skull.

But to make things worse, that police chief had to free her after 24 hours due to lack of evidence against her. Now, she's disappeared into thin air.

Right now, we were having one of our famous meetings to discuss what to do with the information provided during the interrogation. Not that it was much.

"I think I found Kelly," Sadie's voice broke me out of my thoughts.

"Where?" Bianca hurriedly asked, impatient for answers. Sadie took another look at her computer screen before she let out an exasperated sigh and leaned back on her chair.

"She was found dead," she replied with a bit of annoyance in her tone.

"Do you think Angelo killed her off to silence her?" Nathan asked, voicing all of our thoughts.

"Probably. But it doesn't really matter anyway, I don't think she was going to say much more," David said.

"So what should we do now? She was the only key we had to figure out Angelo's plan," Hunter asked to no one in particular.

"What if she wasn't?" Maddie smirked at us.

"What do you mean?" Melanie asked her with furrowed eyebrows.

"What if my father works for Angelo?" she elaborated.

"You're trying to say, that if we find your father, we may find answers?" Josh asked, earning a nod from Maddie in response.

"But that's another thing. We haven't been able to find your father yet," Audrey said.

"You said it, girl. Yet," Madison said.

"And what do you think about the surprises that cop mentioned? What do you think they meant?" Melanie wondered.

That's something I haven't really thought of. We already knew about the game from when he told Sadie that day at the coffee shop. But what surprises is he talking about?

"I really don't know," Hunter grumbled.

"But I don't think it's anything good," Nathan added and I silently agreed with him.

"So basically now our main plan is to find Maddie's father to get some answers, right?" Audrey asked us and we all nodded.

"And how are we going to do that?"

"David and I are still searching. Give us some time, he can't hide forever," Sadie said.

"We are searching as we speak," David added.

While they kept exposing their theories and suggestions, I was just sitting silently listening to all of them. I admit they were all good, but without any confirmation, it's just throwing some ideas into the air, not knowing if it's the truth or not. First, we needed to trust David and Sadie to find Madison's father. Then, we can finally have a confirmation of all of their words.
