(Eric's POV)

Today is the day I have been waiting for since Kindergarten. I am graduating! In the recent months I have been getting more use to my wheelchair. My mom even got me one that moves on it's own. It's more of a scooter honestly but still super cool.

Carley and I are doing great. We actually just celebrated her birthday in May. My mom took us to dinner but let us be alone. And we had a good night. I mean I did. I just wish I did more for her.

Now all the seniors are at the school for a practice graduation. Because tonight or afternoon I should say, is the real thing. I'm very excited but also very scared. I'm scared I'm gonna make a fool of myself. But anyways while I am thinking to myself I feel someone hit me.

"What?" I asked

"You have to go up" They said

"Oh thanks" I said and got in my scooter and rode to the front.

"What's your name?" The teacher asked

"Eric Wilson" I said in a whisper

"Eric Wilson!" The teacher said into the mic. Some people cheer while others clapped. So that felt really nice even though it's not the real audience yet.

I go up to the principal and shake his hand

"Congratulations Eric we are all so proud of you" He said while shaking my hand

"Thank you Principal Edwards" I said then pretended to grab my diploma

I rolled off the stage because there was a ramp. So I went back to my seat. All my friends and Carley went already. I was one of the last ones. I mean we still had to go through the rest of the alphabet. But I was like one of the last because my last name starts with a W.

"Now that's what it is mostly gonna look like for today at 3:30. But everyone has to be here before that to get ready to be in line. Have a great rest of the day and see you later" The principal said

I rode over to Carley, Ellie, Josh, Lauren, Arthur, Alex, and Gabby on my scooter.

"So what are we gonna do for the next couple of hours?" I asked them

"How about we go out to eat. I mean I have Aunt Steph car" Alex said

"You always have my moms car. It's the only way I can go places" I said to my cousin

"That is very true. But hey it's ok. We always have fun on the rides. And i'm glad I'm the one driving instead of Arthur here who doesn't stop at stop signs" Alex said then smacked his brother on the head

"Fuck you Alex. I am a good driver!" Arthur said to his brother

"Sure you are babe" Ellie said

"Really Ellie?" He asked annoyed

"Oh come on lets just go eat. I am starving!" Ellie said walking out of the school

"Ready?" Carley asked me

"Ready as ever" i said with a smile

We head to the mini van. Oh also in the recent months my mom did find someone to put in a ramp in the mini van so I can get in easier than them lifting me up all the time. But I just scoot into the front seat anyways now. Alex gets lonely.

We head to a diner. Once we are there I had to jump onto my scooter, then the ramp of the mini van goes down so I can just move across it on my scooter.

"This is so much easier" I said with a laugh

"Yeah and it gives you independence like you want" Alex said closing the ramp and door of the mini van
