(EJ's POV)
I woke up this morning with a smile on my face. Because today is Halloween aka my birthday. I am 6 years old! Noah's birthday was last month. He tried to eat his birthday cake. Noah is cool. I like him. I also love my sisters too. Especially Skylar.
I get ready for the day. I am having a birthday party. Jack and Lucas said that they are coming. So I can't wait to see them. I invited Josette but she never got back to me during school. So I have no idea about her coming or not.
I mean I invited my whole class. Cause my mom and dad said that when you're in school the first couple of years you need to invite everyone in your class.
I don't really understand that fully but I just did what my mommy and daddy said. We are having the party at our house. Since we have a sorta big house. I mean it is three stories high. We got a basement, living room and sleeping area. So yeah we got enough space.
And since it's Halloween today in addition to my birthday. My family and I are going trick or treating at night. When it's dark my parents said we will go. So I can't wait for that.
I go downstairs to my family. I saw that Skylar, Emma and Noah are already downstairs. I saw my mom and dad dancing. I smile as I walked over
"Happy birthday buddy" My dad said giving me a hug
"Thanks dad" I said with a smile
"Dad? What happened to daddy?" he asked
"I'm growing up" I said
"Babe I don't like this" My dad said to my mom
"Oh Eric relax" mom said. "You can deal with it" She said
"Thanks mom" I said
"Mom?" She asked as her eyes started to tear
"Oh not you too" i said sighing
"No.....No I am fine" She said taking a deep breathe
"Are you sure mom?" I asked her
"Oh he said it again" Mom said then ran off
"EJ buddy. Don't grow up too fast. Please?" Dad asked
"But I am growing up dad" I said
"Are people picking on you?" He asked me
"No" I said
"Are you sure?" He asked
"Yeah. And if there were. Jack and Lucas have my back" I said to him
"Good.....Good. But you know you can still call mommy and I. Mommy and daddy" He said
"But no guy my age called their parents mommy and daddy still" I said
"EJ no one is exactly the same. If they were.....that would be boring" He said
I nod. "I just don't want to say mommy and daddy anymore" I said softly
He sighs and nods. "If you really don't want to say it anymore. Then your mom and i will deal with the new name" He said to me
"Thanks dad" I said with a smile
"No problem buddy" He said with a smile
After my dad put food in front of me. Mom comes back.
"Mom are you ok?" I asked her
She looks at me but with tears. I sigh and just ate my food.
"Happy birthday, EJ" Skylar said putting a card in front of me
