King Viserys died.

This news, despite being an obvious outcome; waited, even, came to Aelina Targaryen in the early morning with crushing surprise. She and Helaena were sitting together, side by side, busy discussing little twins upcoming birthdays, when Aemond brought them news, hurrying the way she had seen him only twice in their lives. Expression on his face was dark as he spoke:

'Father died. His last words were about him, wanting to see his first son on the throne. That was what our mother told me.'

Which news was worse, that Aelina couldn't tell.

'He would never say such a thing.'

Even a fool could tell that Rhaenyra was the only child in his eyes. He hardly remembered Aegon's existence in his best days, why would he ever ask about him, being a king now? Why not the daughter, whose ambitions he supported all his life, from the very beginning of her path?

'Don't ask me, sister. It wasn't me, who was with him, when he died.' Aemond scoffed. 'And, oh, almost forgot to mention. Aegon, our brother dearest, ran away as soon as he heard about it.'

...Quite understandable if Aelina was being honest.

A tense silence fell upon Helaena's room; both Targaryen twins wandering in their own thoughts, while their sister waved some red and black threads in her slender fingers. She refrained from commenting on the situation, but instead another prophecy left her lips.

'Death takes and goes away, promising to return. And the day when the false king steals the throne, green shall become the black.'

Their sweet Helaena wasn't by any means stupid. She might be oblivious and too naive sometimes, but when she speaks with them about her visions, she knows what she is talking about.

And that is why Aemond and Aelina paled immediately.

Helaena Targaryen knew that her siblings were planning to betray their family.

'What are you talking about, Helaena?' Aemond asked, his voice becoming soft like it only could be in his sisters' company. 'You don't think that...'

'My sight is not clouded, Aemond,' Helaena stopped him with a gentle smile on her round face. 'I dream of you leaving this place painless.'

'Leave with us, sister,' Aelina was quick to suggest, even knowing that her offer would be declined politely.

She knew Helaena all her life. They both cared about each other in the way only two sisters could. And Aelina tried so hard to protect her, to back away from Aegon, to do something that could help lessen the talks about her sister being insane. And because of this, because of the bond they had, the total understanding of each other, Aelina knew - Helaena would never agree.

'I am no part of war. I simply wish my sister and brother to be happy.' She answered, cupping her sister's cheek as Aelina fell on her knees before her, paying respect to the only woman and human being, who she would like to see on the Iron Throne. 'I am neither soldier nor a knight. I am a mother. The castle is kind to us. There me and kids are at our safest. And if it changes... I have two great little protectors, haven't I?

Aemon mirrored his sister's pose, kneeling before Helaena, bowing his head as deep as he only could. She laughed at them, lips lightly kissing the crown of their heads; the only crowns they have got, but in Helaena's eyes the most loveable ones.

'We will protect you to the last breath.' They vowed in perfect synchronisation.

'I know.' Helaena put her hands on their hair, smoothing them down. 'Now you should go. Find Aegon, take care of preparations. Oh. And don't forget: when the beast beneath the boards appears, you shall take your leaves.'
