'So, little brother, when are you going to finally become a proper man?'

Aemond felt the tips of his ear reddening as he almost sent the drink back, in the cup. He glanced at drunk Aegon angrily, brows furrowing, and grip on the cup growing tighter. Gods, why was it so hard for their brother to be an adequate man at least for once?

'Ask if from yourself,' Aelina answered him lazily, sipping her wine.

Aemond couldn't help but wonder where his sister got this excerpt to talk with Aegon so calmly, so stoic; especially, after what happened with her because of him. Even the smallest word that left Aegon's lips evoked in him the mix of irritation and madness, and he suffered from his hands less than his sisters.

'Ha-ha, sister.' Aegon grimaced at her. 'I was then when I became a man, there was nothing to ask about.'

'Oh, and the fact that you paid a whore to lose your virginity makes you a man,' Aelina parried with an amused grin on her face, turning to look in his eyes. 'More like an official owner of the small di–'

...His sister could be embarrassing too, sometimes.

'Could both of you, please, stop talking about stuff like this, when we are in a public place?' He cut them.

For that, he earned a little laugh from Aelina, her hand reaching to pat his hair softly.

'We are in the brothel, my little dragon. There is no better place to talk about sex,' she winked at him with her healthy eye.

Gods, and how he hated that they should accompany Aegon in here. This place was absolutely disgusting and filthy, the loud screaming sounds and smell of alcohol choking him, and, well, Aegon was the last person he wanted to accompany. But his sister bore this task with a respectful indifference, and so, he tried to match her.

'Seriously, though. We should hire a woman for you, after all.' He continued, eyes moving to his right side. 'Oh, is that Rosaria? She would be a fine match! Ros–'

But before he finished his sentence, Aelina jumped on her feet, dagger pressing to their brother's throat as she hissed loud enough:

'Try to do that, Aegon, and I will kill you.' Her face became sinister, almost. Aemond smiled. 'Just attempt to connect him with your whores, and you are going to be dead by morning.'

Aegon laughed, showing off his teeth.

'Are you willing to become a kinslayer for this?'

'I am willing to become a kinslayer just for fun,' she answered rather honestly, slowly freeing him. 'And keep your mouth shut, people are watching.'

His smile faded quickly, instead, Aegon made a few big sips of wine, hunching over the table and muttering something about their mother marrying the wrong brother and sister.

Aemond found Aelina's hand under the table, squeezing it softly, and she smiled to him gratefully, snuggling closer to his side, tensed shoulders slumping tiredly.

It was easier this way - ignore Aegon. But it always made him wonder... How exactly Aegon usually ignored himself, then?

'Are you sure?'

He felt Aelina sighing, her fingers carding through his hair, hooking the leather string of the eyepatch.
