Melting

I enjoy reading tales, especially Greek myths. One of my favourites is the tale of Icarus. Everywhere you look, people bash Icarus for not listening and flying so close to the sun. The moral of the tale is to avoid hubris... or so they say.

I don't agree with that or with the interpretations. We bash poor Icarus, and pretend that we don't do the same, but we do, we know some people that are bad for us ..yet we keep them close. We let them burn our wings..

We know that some things may be bad for us or damage us, but yet, because society validates it.. we do it...and just like that we've burnt our wings.

We were all born with wings. Unfortunately, most of us have our wings melted...and just like Icarus, we drown into this sea called society.

Losing hope of surviving because we lost our ability to fly. But we are so much more than some wax wings.

Candles can be melted and made into another shape. We should reuse our melted wings and turn them into another pair... and jump.

What if I fall?....you may think
But what if you fly?
