Murder Drones Oneshots (mostly Nuzi)

MD Vampire AU Part 26

N sat with his legs swinging from the top of a large building- the same one he and Uzi had first kissed on- he was lost in thought from the earlier events.

Nervously he checked his wrist watch (a gift from J), which told him he about 14 hours left until he was due home, N wouldn't break a promise to Uzi. He refused to. Still, he couldn't help but panic at the thought of seeing everyone again, what if he hurt them? Hurt the baby?

Groaning, N lent back and found himself observing the night sky, it would be daylight soon- but N was choosing to ignore that...maybe it would be better for everyone if he let himself burn...

No. You're going home to Uzi...you've got a kid on the way! You promised.

N had been worried about having a baby since Uzi said she wanted one- mostly he was worried about having subpar parenting skills- but now he was afraid of being unintentionally abusive! What if he accidentally controlled his baby like he controlled J? What if he caused Uzi pain while she was still pregnant?

The only idea N could think of to save the day would be to have J take charge again- but would she become mean again? Plus she'd been so distant towards everyone lately.

I don't care if she hurts me again...but it wouldn't be good if she became full on cruel to everyone. Plus she might have to fight me to take charge again.

N considered the idea of allowing J to defeat him, her taking charge again- meaning he was no longer tied to the alpha position.

Would that mean Uzi looses her interest in the baby though?  J said she wanted it mainly thanks to her being my soulmate.

Sighing in defeat, N sat up and glared at the sky, why did this all have to get so complicated? A part of him wished he and Uzi could go back to the start, where they would kiss on rooftops and not worry about dads or teammates, they were just happy with each other.

As N looked back upon those memories, a particular one slowed in his head, the night he and Uzi first kissed. He had pulled her too hard accidentally, placing her firmly in his lap, he wanted to bite her- but held back- he wasn't going to hurt her, so he kissed her shoulder instead.

N could remember the moment Uzi sat up in his embrace, challenging him to try again, he remembered them both faltering for a moment- before he saw that they both shared the same hungry gaze.

That kiss...that night...had been the start of everything, that was the night N fell in love with Uzi, that was the night he knew he could never leave her. Even if he didn't realise it then.

The memory replayed over and over in N's mind, eventually he sat up and smiled softly to himself, he couldn't possibly live without her now...not after everything.

"I'm coming Uzi" N mumbled to himself, freshly motivated.

Meanwhile Uzi was pacing around the Doorman apartment, she'd been flown home by V, who had gone back to Thad's. Leaving Uzi all alone in her panic.

He's coming back Uzi. You know he is. He'd never break a promise to you. You know this.

Still Uzi was panicking, it didn't help that Doll was still outside and supposedly wild, she could hurt N!

Don't be stupid Uzi- N is way stronger than Doll- and no offence to Thad but he's not exactly a threat.

Uzi groaned and sat back on her bed, her mind was swimming with thoughts, thoughts of N and the baby- thoughts of her dad and moving out. Etc etc.

Moving...

Uzi couldn't help but perk up slightly at that key word, she hadn't mentioned the baby to her father yet, and was planning on picking a place to live first since he'd probably go nuts at the news. She had wanted to start looking at available units in the colony with N soon...but maybe she could begin without him? Just for now obviously- she wouldn't make a decision without him.
