MD Vampire AU Part 29

"This apartment has 3 bedrooms, one bathroom and a shared kitchen/living room space- it's right by the doors while still being in the school district" the estate agent explained, pointing around the apartment enthusiastically.

The weak N and very pregnant Uzi scanned the apartments entrance, N had only recently been allowed out of hospital while Uzi's stomach had grown twice the size. She definitely had twins on the way- or else she'd be giving birth to a giant.

Since N had been allowed out of the hospital Uzi and N decided to use today to hunt for a place of their own. Aside from the agent hitting on N despite his pregnant girlfriend the day had gone well, and thanks to Khan pulling a few favours they could get the apartment for basically nothing.

"I like the location- and are the rooms are a good size? We want the babies to share for the first year or two so it's easier on us" Uzi explained, unable to resist petting her stomach slightly, she could feel one of the babies move as she did.

The agent nodded "The rooms aren't huge, but the middle room could fit 2 cribs and a shelf of baby gear, the master room is a bit bigger and the last room could take a single bed and some shelves".

N and Uzi nodded at each other, sounded pretty good- this was definitely the best apartment they'd seen so far- and the location was more important than the space, so it had already won in that department.

"I think we'll go for it, Mr Doorman said he'd handle the paperwork right?" N offered, having read Uzi's mind to confirm they had the same opinion.

The agent grinned "Yep! The place is practically yours already~ you can start moving in items next week, I'll send the details to Doorman".

'Doorman' was currently sitting in his own apartment, a picture of his wedding day resting on his lap, N had told him how to test if they were soulmates- and now he finally had the time to try.

He remembered how N had explained it, he needed to let his blood drip on the picture of Nori's face, and then see if it formed a subtle ring around her. If it did, she's his soulmate, if not...then he lived a happy life with her regardless.

Whatever the result is, I loved her enough to take care of her until the end.

Sighing, Khan slit his wrist with a pocketknife and held it above the picture, a small droplet leaked out and landed heavily on Nori's face.

Khan took a breath and waited, the blood seemed to be moving, but he couldn't tell if it was soaking in or just adjusting. He could barely stand the anticipation- the only reason Khan was doing this is because he knew that Nori had a weird obsession with stuff like this- she'd want to know!

The old man closed his eyes, he was breathing heavy by this point, whatever happened- he had lived a life with Nori- it didn't matter what the result was. It didn't matter.

Still, he opened his eyes slowly, tipping his head down just enough to see the picture.

The blood had moved, but not into a ring around Nori's face, it was a heart shape around Khan's.

What the- the blood dripped on her- and why would it make a heart shape anyway?! That's not normal!

Khan shook the picture slightly, but the heart stayed firm, the blood still hadn't soaked in- but was apparently very keen to stay in its location.

N hadn't prepared Khan for this, heck he wondered if N knew what this meant? Maybe that J girl would know, she seemed to be the smartest of their group. Still surely she would have explained to N if this was a possibility- did she not tell him on purpose? Did he not tell him on purpose?
