I woke to the warmth of the sun on my face. I could hear the birds early morning chirps.

"Jackie, Zac's here," I heard Tabby say through the door.

"Alright be there in five," I mumbled pulling my body out of bed. I was not a morning person. I slowly opened my sleepy eyes as I got up and started walking over to my suitcase.

I pulled out short denim shorts, a plain white singlet and a sweater with the word Paris on it. I quickly changed and walked to the bathroom to wash my face.

"Morning Jackie," Tabby greeted, "Zac is in the corridor waiting for you."

"Thanks Tabby, just let me wash my face," I smiled at her.

I walked into the bathroom and grabbed the clothe washing away all the sleep in my eyes. I tied my red curls into a loose bun and walked to the front door grabbing my chucks on the way out.

"Hey," Zac smiled as I opened the door.

"Morning," I smiled back.

"You do realize that it's almost lunch time," he said arching an eyebrow. "Not a morning person?"

"Nope and probably never will be," I smiled.

"Alright, well you ready?"

"Yep."

We walked through the corridor and talked as he showed me around.

"So you've met my sister?" He asked nervously as we made our way to the canteen.

"Yeah, she's really nice," I smiled.

"Oh that's good. But I must warn you she has a mental disorder," he whispered, so that's the thing he told everyone.

"Mate," I said leaning into his ear, "I think your lying. I don't like liars," I whispered to his ear. I stood up and walked away I hate liars and I can always tell when someone's lying, I swear its like a gift!

"Jackie!" Tabby squealed as I walked into since I wasn't watching where I was going.

"Ow," I moaned stepping back to steady myself.

"Hey you wanna grab some lunch?" She asked.

"Yeah sure," I smiled at her. We walked back to the canteen together.

After we had finished getting our food we sat down a table next to the windows. Rays of sun were melting the yesterday's snow. It was a beautiful sight.

"Hey are you new?" A group of girls asked me.

"Yes," I replied. From the way they were acting I would say they are the bitches of the school.

"Well I'm Kate," the one that spoke said holding out her hand wanting to shake mine. I notice that they were completely ignoring Tabby.

"I'm Jackie, and this is Tabby," I smiled pointing to Tabby.

"Oh we know who that is," Kate replied eyeing Tabby, "you probably shouldn't hang out with her."

"Why not?" I asked.

"Well she's lesbian and you don't want her hitting on you," Kate smiled like she hadn't said anything wrong. What a bitch.

"Naw that's to bad, but well, hey, it's probably better than hanging with you."

"Excuse me?"

"Okay, okay, let me say this to you slowly, I. Do. Not. Want. To. Be. Your. Friend. Because I hate judgmental bitches like you," I smiled tucking a loose strand of hair behind my ear. "And honey, nobody's perfect, especially not you," I said while I kept smiling, always smile life's not worth being sad, plus it pisses people off even more.

"You just made a very bad enemy," she snarled before walking off with her posse following her.

"Oh. Ma. Gosh! You just told off the girls that basically run the school," Tabby squealed. "Oh and just for the fact, I'm not lez."

"I know," I smiled, "and I stand up for my friends, always. Like I said I'm not letting anybody mess with you."

"Ekk I love you!!" She squealed again jumping up and cuddling me. "Hey we have a week before school starts, what do you wanna do?" She asked as she pulled away from the hug.

"Um I don't know," I said shrugging.

"Well there's this great mall in town, do you wanna come shopping with me?"

"Yeah sure, but you'll have to drive, my bike hasn't arrived yet."

"Sure thing! Eek! We are going to have so much fun," she squealed jumping up and down. I laughed at her outburst of happiness.

It was about nine at night and I was sitting on the couch with Tabby eating ice cream.

"I just realized that I don't know much about you," Tabby said looking up from her strawberry tub of ice cream.

"Well my name is Jackie Rose Skye, I am almost 18 and I have no siblings," I replied looking up from my vanilla tub of ice cream.

"We should play twenty questions," Tabby beamed.

"Okay you first," I replied smiling.

"Favourite colour?"

"Red."

"Favourite book?"

"Harry potter."

"Any tattoos?"

"Yep, doves up the side of my left ribs, the words 'To infinity and beyond' across my ankle and the word 'promise' on my right pinkie finger," I replied happily, I was proud of my tats.

"Wow that's a lot, my mum won't even let me get just one. Anyway, worst injury?"

"Getting hit by a car and breaking my ankle."

"You got hit by a car?!? And only broke you ankle?" She asked.

"Yep."

"Wow. Okay next question, ever been in love?"

There was a moment of silence as I had to think about it, "not sure."

"Alright. Virgin?"

"Yes," I answered raising an eye brow.

"Hey just wondering," she said rolling her eyes.

"Okay my turn. Favourite colour?"

"Blue."

"Favourite book?"

"Twilight."

"Favourite movie?"

"Sherk."

"Virgin?"

"Nope," she replied sheepishly.

"Ever been in love?"

"Yes," she replied sadly.

"What happened?"

"He died," she replied quietly.

"Oh I'm so sorry," I apologized.

"Don't worry about it, that's the past," she smiled.

"Okay I think we should stop this game and eat our Ice cream before it melts," I suggested looking at our unattended half melted ice cream.

"Oh shoot yeah," Tabby jumped, shoving melting ice cream into her mouth. "Agh, brain freeze," she whaled. I let out a laugh at her actions.

"Jackie get to bed! We gotta go shopping in the morning and you take for ever to wake up," Tabby ordered taking my ice cream and putting it back in the freezer.

"Yes mum," I said mockingly walking into my room.

I laid down on my pillow, Tabby was just like me, well before Jesse came along. I needed to help her gain respect and fight off any of those ugly bitches like Kate, to me she was just another version of Paige.
