"I really am fine," I protested trying to get up and out of bed.

"Jackie the doctors said you have to stay until Sunday just in case," Tabby said stopping my efforts to get up.

"I really am fine though," I grumbled crossing my arms together and pouting like a five year old. I swear it was these meds they had me on.

"Stop acting like a baby. You can leave tomorrow it's only one day," Tabby pointed out sitting on chair in the corner of the room.

"One day wasted of my life," I grumbled again annoyed.

"Your dad called," Tabby murmured and I tensed this can't be good, I don't want him to come down here just for me.

"What did he say?" I asked cautiously.

"He just wanted to know what happened but you were still out so he said he'd call sometime today," she yawned tossing me my iPhone.

Tabby had stayed up all night apparently to see if I was okay, there wasn't any bone damage it was mainly the problem that I had lost a lot of blood by moving my leg and I needed to avoid using it, so I would be in crutches for the week so I took pressure off my healing leg.

The last time I had crutches was when I broke my ankle crossing the road and some guy called me limpy, he ended up in crutches. I smiled to myself, that was half a year after Jesse left. My smile flattered at the remembrance of the fight that we had had, forget about him Jackie.

"Okay, I'll keep my phone on," I sighed running a hand through my hair.

The cords that were in my arms connecting me to a drip and an emergency blood bag had been taken out when I woke and I had bandages covering the marks that they left.

I swear I wasn't bleeding that bad... okay so I might of needed to have a blood transplant but it wasn't that much of a deal... and that I was on antibiotics for my leg.

"Jackie!" Tabby said snapping her fingers in front of my face and pulling me away from my thoughts.

"What?" I asked confused.

"You zoned out," she said rolling her eyes, "and you have visitors," she added and I looked to the door to see a smiling Love trio.

"Hey Jackie," Scott greeted handing me a bouquet of flowers.

"There a get well present," Blake smirked and I took the flowers.

"Thanks guys," I smiled, "and I'm perfectly fine," I added shooting Tabby a side ways glance which she just rolled her eyes at.

"When do you get out?" Britty asked.

"Tomorrow and than I have to be in crutches for a week," I grumbled unhappily.

"And they wouldn't put a cast on it so she has to have thick bandaging," Tabby added smiling.

"Did you ask for a cast?" I asked her glaring.

"Yes but only because I knew you would get back on your bike," she said rolling her eyes at my glare again. "But the only thing they could do was put you on a in road worthy contract, you aren't legally allowed to ride," she smirked.

"Are you serious!" I yelled at her glaring.

"Yep I also sent a picture of you to the cops and a picture of your bike," she said innocently.

"Well played Tabitha, well played," I smirked using her full name.

"Hey I told you not to call me that!" she protested narrowing her eyes at me. I just rolled my eyes in response and turned back to the Love's.

"Guys thank you for the flowers," I smiled.

"No problem," Britty smiled back.

I glanced down to my phone as it played its familiar tune I glanced down to the caller ID and read dads name.

"Is it your dad?" Tabby asked.

"Yeah," I confirmed and everyone left the room to give me some privacy.

"Hello honey," my daddy sung, "how my girl doing?" he asked with a concerned tone laced in his voice.

"I'm fine dad it was just a little scratch," I grumbled smiling.

"Sure, sure, you can't lie to me Jackie," he said and I could picture him rolling his eyes at me.

"Damn so close," I cursed smirking.

"So your alright? What did the doc say?" he asked with a concerned tone again.

"I just have to stay off it for about a week so I'll be in crutches and I get out tomorrow," I smiled at his concerned voice.

"So you won't need me to come down there and chop it off?" he asked trying to be serious.

"Nah, not yet," I smirked playing along.

"Well honey get better and sorry I haven't called much, I've been busy," he said sadly.

"It's alright, I've been busy here too.... dad?" I asked.

"Yes?"

"Well one of my friends came up and said that she saw Tanya buying tickets for three weeks time..." I trailed off using her name instead of mum.

"Yes I also wanted to tell you about that as well, its been four years honey you have to see her sometime," he said.

"I could always wait another year," I grumbled.

"Jackie she's coming and that's final she should be getting in sometime Thursday, and don't worry you don't need to pick her up either," he sighed.

"Fine," I pouted.

"I have to go Jackie, the plane is boarding, love you, I'll be down on the holidays," he said and I heard him taking to someone on the other end.

"Goodbye dad love you take care," I smiled and hung up.

I put the phone on the counter and closed my eyes yawning. I heard the door open but was too tired to open my eyes.

"Jackie you asleep?" someone asked and I cracked open an eye looking at Zac.

"Yeah, just kinda tired," I yawned again.

"Well I won't be to long just wondering if you were okay," he smiled.

"Yeah I'm fine, like I said just a scratch," I smirked and he sat down on the chair across the room.

"It didn't look like a scratch, it looked like your whole leg was bleeding," he laughed and I smiled.

"Just wondering, why don't you like blood?" I asked.

"Well when I was sixteen I saw my best friend get hit by a train..." he trailed off.

"Oh I'm so sorry," I said softly.

"Don't worry about it, I wasn't the one that was most hurt about it though, it hit Tabby pretty hard," he sighed.

"What do you mean?" I asked confused.

"They were dating, like full on in love, she locked herself in her room for three days. Pretty pathetic if you ask me," he shrugged uncaringly.

"Your a jerk," I said narrowing my eyes at him.

"Well just because someone died doesn't mean you lock yourself up for three days!" he defended.

"Well the boy she loved died what do you want her to do!" I glared.

"Deal with it," he shrugged like it didn't matter.

"Yep your a jerk," I muttered.

"You like it though," he smirked standing up and walking to the door.

"I really don't," I snapped and he opened the door.

Before he left he turned and faced me, "one day Jackie," and with that he left me both stunned and confused. I think it had a different meaning though.

I shrugged it off closing my eyes again and nodding off to sleep.

Sunday

"How are you feeling?" the blonde nurse asked holding her clipboard.

"Like I could of gotten out yesterday," I grumbled.

"Well we were going to let you go but Tammy insisted that you stay because you would probably hurt your leg again," the nurse said cheerfully.

"Tabby," I corrected.

"Oh sorry," she apologized looking back to her clipboard.

"Now could you just walk around the room and tell me if anything hurts," she instructed and I got out of bed and walked around with my crutches.

"Well this bandage feels stiff as hell I can't even straighten my leg," I grumbled.

"It's suppose to don't worry, any back or joint pain?" she asked.

"No," I shook my head.

"Well Jackie you should be alright to go, I trust your having someone pick you up," she assumed and handed me some papers.

"Yeah my friend should be here soon," I smiled warmly at her.

"Just give those papers to the front desk and your free," she smiled and I walked out of the room and to the front desk.

"Um.. here," I said passing the papers to the front desk lady.

"Thank you honey, just sign here please," she said kindly and I signed it walking to the pick up zone and getting my phone out.

Minutes after I had texted Tabby a blue ford drove in and Tabby smiled up at me.

"About time," I said dramatically getting in the car passing her my crutches which she put in the back.

"Thanks," I grumbled crossing my arms while she started the car again and put her seatbelt on.

"Shouldn't you be happy you just got out," Tabby sighed glancing at me quickly as she drove to the dorms.

"You said that they should keep me in until today! Why?" I pouted.

"Because I knew you would just get back out there and hurt your leg worse than it was, and I don't want to see you hurt," she sighed.

"I can take care of myself," I protested.

"That's what Leo said," she said under her breath, I don't think I was meant to hear it though.

Then it clicked, Leo her ex was the one Zac was talking about, that he saw die that she locked herself up in her room for three days.

"Tabby you know how I asked if you've ever fallen in love and you said yes, was that Leo?" I asked and her breath caught.

"Yes," she said her voice guarded.

"What happened?" I asked unsure of whether she would answer.

She sighed and glanced at me offering me a small smile, "when I was sixteen, about two years ago I was hanging out with with him on the train tracks with Zac and his current girlfriend."

"We were about to leave, just after Zac's girlfriend did, I was walking to my car when I heard the sounds of a train, see Leo had bad hearing and I knew that so I started to sprint back to warn him."

"I got there and Zac was calling out to him that the train was about twenty metres away, I told him to get off but he didn't hear me and he wasn't quick enough. He noticed the train and just as he was getting off his jeans caught and he fell onto the tracks, he died like that and I saw everything," she said sniffling and I noticed her eyes brimming with tears.

"I'm sorry," I said quietly. To watch the one you loved die must of been horrific.

"Don't and please don't give me pity either, it was then and this is now," she sighed and we pulled up at the dorms.

"I'm happy you told me," I smiled truthfully.

"I haven't told anyone about it, Zac uses it as a pick up line, that's why I told his girlfriend he was cheating because he wouldn't stop," she said sourly.

"What a prick," I grumbled and Tabby handed me my crutches while I struggled out of the car.

"You probably should let people help you more you know that," Tabby sighed and steadied me.

I shrugged and hopped up the stairs that I had once fallen over on, the sun was high and the snow had cleared up a couple of weeks ago so that was good.

The receptionist smiled at me and smiled back, "if you need anything just ask honey," she said warmly.

"Thanks," I smiled and continued to my dorm with Tabby swinging her keys around her finger while whistling.

I turned to look at her an narrowed my eyes, "what are you hiding?" I asked and she looked at me playing dumb.

"What ever do you mean?" she asked innocently.

"Not buying it," I said shaking my head.

"I'll tell you when we get inside," she shrugged glancing at the door that we had stopped in front of.

"Nah I can wait," I smiled knowing that something was behind the door.

"Just please go inside," she huffed frustrated when I didn't budge.

"You guys have a surprise party planed, don't you?" I guessed rolling my eyes.

"No!" she answered a little too quickly.

"Sure, sure," I said rolling my eyes and unlocking the door.

The lights were switched off and the room pitch black with the curtains closed. We never close the curtains though.

I smiled to myself flicking on the lights as people jumped out of their places shouting surprise.

A banner was hanging from the roof saying welcome back! Colourful streamers were hanging from the roof and a cake sitting on the kitchen counter.

A few kids from school were there that I had met and so were the Loves, Zac and Penny. Jesse and Kain were the only two missing from their group, I figures Kain didn't actually like me but I didn't give a shit.

"Oh wow thank you guys," I said trying to act surprised, luckily they brought it.

"No problem Jackie, how you feeling?" Britty asked and someone turned on the music.

"I'm good," I smiled.

"Well... Can I ask you something?" She asked unsure.

"Sure," I said confused.

"Well me and my brothers asked Jesse to come and he said no," she said carefully.

"So?" I asked still confused.

"Did something happen?" she asked getting to the point.

"Yeah, he was a massive dickhead so I told him to forget it," I sighed.

"Forget what?" she asked her turn to be confused.

"That he ever knew me, that I ever knew him," I shrugged acting like it wasn't a big deal, even though I regret my words, a lot and it hurt inside, but I wouldn't admit that to anyone.

I think she knew I had become guarded so she didn't press anymore and I was tugged away from her by someone, I could only see a glimpse of a boys black hair with red streaks.

He looks familiar but I couldn't see his face. "Hey!" I protest struggling with only one leg.

He flashes a grin with his perfect teeth and green eyes lighting up, "Jordan, not funny," I pouted but he pulls me out to the balcony.

"Okay so I don't know you to well but I was wondering if you could do me a solid?" he asked as we finally came to a stop.

"A favour for a favour," I bargained and he rolled his eyes shaking his head.

"Fine," he grinned.

"What is it?" I asked interested.

"Could you maybe help me ask out Britty?" he asked a pink tint on his cheeks.

"Awe," I smiled pinching his cheeks.

He slapped my hands away and laughed.

"Firstly, do you even know her?" I asked raising an eyebrow.

"I talked to her at the track," he smiled.

"And what did you talk about?" I asked smirking at his adorableness.

"About the weather," he mumbled, "I can't flirt," he added embarrassed.

I laughed, the weather really? Okay so I probably needed to give him some help with his flirting methods.

"Well... I'll help you," I smiled.

"Okay what do I do?" He asked enthusiastically.

"First talk to her more, compliment her, be nice, be there for her and make her trust you. Plus if you ever cheat on her or break her heart I'll shove your balls so far down your throat that they'll come back out your arse," I said my voice sickly sweet at my last sentence.

"Okay I promise I won't," he cringed.

"Than I'll ask her what she thinks of you," I smiled.

"What if I get.... Friend zoned?" He asked scared.

"Trust me I'll make her think of you more than a friend," I smiled thinking of ways I could tell her he was so hot! With exaggeration of course, well not much because he was pretty hot but I would only consider him to be my friend.

"Thanks!" He said picking me up and swinging me around.

"Dude I'm in crutches!" I laughed and he put me down smiling sheepishly.

"Sorry," he smirked.

I rolled my eyes and shook my head smiling at him.

"Oh and I want you to meet my brother," he smiled and pulled me inside but not as roughly as before.

We stopped in front of a boy with the similar hair style but streaked blue and lighter green eyes, I recognized him as one of the other races that I had seen around the track.

"Hey Jordan," he smirked and looked at me basically eye raping me, I scolded at his roaming eyes, "and who's this?" he asked with a sly smirk.

"Jackie and my face is up here," I snapped at him.

"Sorry but a body like that should be looked at, even with the crutches your still hot," he said with a devilish smirk, I would hate to know what he was thinking about.

"And with these crutches I could still poke your eyes out and break a few bones," I scolded.

"Well Jackie this is Jay and Jay this is Jackie," Jordan said rolling his eyes.

"Nice to meet you," Jay said offering his hand for me to shake.

"Sorry I refuse to shake an eye rappers hand," I hissed and turned around limping away from the jerk.

"Sorry about my brother," Jordan apologized falling into step beside me and rubbing the back of his neck.

"It's alright," I said and weaved my way through the crowd and towards Tabby.

"Oh hi Jackie I've been looking for you everywhere," Tabby smiled when she spotted me.

"I was with Jordan," I shrugged nodding my head in Jordan's direction.

"Your one of the races aren't you," Tabby smiled.

"Yeah," he smiled back.

"Do you go to our school?" she asked and I turned to look at Jordan waiting for his answer, I never actually saw him at school come to think of it.

"No I got to Jai public," he answered shrugging.

"Oh I didn't think I've seen you around school," I smiled understanding why.

"Yeah I live in Jai so there's no point in going to a boarding school," he smiled.

"Guys cake!" Blake called out and everyone gathered around the kitchen counter I got to the front and Scott lit the candles.

It was a vanilla cake with chocolate frosting and the words get well soon written in white writing across the top of the cake.

"Awe guys thanks you didn't have to," I smiled hugging Blake as he handed me the knife.

"We had to do something," Scott smiled as I hugged him too.

"No you didn't I was only in there for two days and my leg isn't that bad," I said rolling my eyes.

"You needed a blood transplant and have to be in crutches for a week," Britty said rolling her eyes and I blew out the candles.

"When you say it like that its sounds bad," I said smiling sheepishly grabbing the knife to cut the cake.

"Because it is bad," Zac chuckled as I passed him a piece of cake and he leaned closer than necessary to me, "I'm glad your okay," he whispered into my ear and grazed his lips over my cheek as he pulled away.

I lifted my leg up backwards and kicked him in the shin as he smirked and walked away. I narrowed my eyes at his retreating back, what a prick.

I huffed out a breath and put on my best fake smiled, grabbing a piece of cake for myself and passing the knife to Britty for her to cut the rest.

I limped over to an chair and ate the cake resting my eyes for a few minutes sighing.

I must of fallen asleep after that as I was carried into my room by a very muscular person and out of instinct I snuggled into his chest.
