Chapter 12: Night Drama

It was 10am and we'd just got on the train to Windsor, which meant we'd probably get in by midday, which looked almost impossible a few hours ago. I was sat staring out of the window, I felt Tayte's hand snake its way into mine and I smiled. There is no point in retelling you what happened after Tayte came into the bathroom. The past is the past and especially if its painful or upsetting then why dwell on it,

"What did Noah tell your parents to why we're late?" Tayte asked,

"Something about tube closures and having to get buses and go all around the houses to get anywhere and something about it kicking off at an underground station" I said,

"So we can be quiet and stressed out, good. What about looking like shit?" he teased,

"Shut up. I swear I'm not drinking like that again and you better not let me" he smiled,

"I'll do my best, how are you pain wise?"

"Non-existent in my leg and slowly my headache is going, that bus almost killed me" he laughed but said,

"Glad you aren't in pain, and that you didn't die on the bus" I smiled and he kissed me.

Halfway through the journey the ticket inspector was heard asking for tickets,

"His voice is annoying" I mumbled, Tayte laughed,

"His voice is only annoying because you're hungover," I groaned and he laughed again. There was then a commotion when a middle aged guy claimed he had his ticket when he came onto the train and that he must've misplaced it, therefore he was refusing to buy another one,

"I'm sorry sir but its regulation, if you don't present a ticket then you must buy one,"

"But I did buy one"

"You might have, but you can't show it to me, therefore you have to buy another"

"Oh for Christ sake" he shouted. I had, had enough,

"Shut the hell up and buy another bloody ticket, because you're embarrassing yourself in front of everyone in this carriage" I snapped, the man huffed, puffed, glared at me, but then pulled out his wallet and bought a ticket,

"Everyone is looking at you like your some kind of saint, if only they knew" Tayte whispered, kissing my cheek, I smiled.

"Thank you for stepping in" the ticket officer said, I opened my eyes,

"He was giving me a headache, so I had to do something," he smiled,

"You look rough mate" he said, Tayte laughed,

"I wouldn't go there" Tayte said,

"Fair enough," he chuckled,

"How many idiots do you get on your daily rounds?" I asked,

"A fair few, he won't be the last today, I can tell you that"

"Well, we admire you for it" Tayte said handing over our tickets,

"You two are the first to stop and chat and the first to actually defend me"

"It's a hard job, a friendly face and a short chat makes the day go by much better" I said, he smiled,

"Come with me, I've just boosted your tickets to first class. It's nothing special on these southwestern trains but I mean, it's quiet and the seats are bigger"
