Chapter 24: Lock Down

"A second bomb has gone off outside of the MI5 building on Millbank, a short proximity from MI6 (SIS) Vauxhall cross headquarters that was subject to the first bombings. The whole of Westminster, Pimlico, Vauxhall and Lambeth are in lock down and under red alert. All tube and rail stations in those areas have been temporarily suspended and evacuated. The whole of London has been put under amber alert. More news to follow" the radio blared,

"The worlds finally gone to shit" Noah said, pulling out his phone to I know text Angelo, who was probably following the news on his phone as he headed on a train to the Cotswold's. We'd just driven into Mayfair, cars were basically at standstill as diversions were being put in place. There were so many police about,

"We're going to get turned around" Tayte said,

"We have the King and Queen sat in front of us" I said, "I'm sure we won't"

We must have been on the border of Westminster, as there was a massive cordoned off area of fire engines, police vehicles and military personnel. We slowed up and Dad rolled down his window,

"I'm afraid you can't go any further, we are diverting traffic back and all the way around, for anyone who lives in any of these boroughs, you aren't getting home yet," a police officer who was probably quite high up in the ranks said,

"We need to get through on business" Dad said calmly,

"There are many people who want to get through, but I am afraid you can't. London is under extreme pressure and this area is in red alert, for restricted personnel only," Dad handed over something and after he looked at it for a few seconds he changed his tune right away and said, "My sincerest apologies Sir and Ma'am, who else is the car with you?"

"My 3 boys"

"Of course, certainly, let them through" he shouted,

"Don't say anything Keane" Dad said,

"I wasn't even going to waste my breath" I responded as we zipped on through past police, army and fire, through cordoned off areas and then came to a stop amongst cars that were blacked out, expensive and surrounded by police bikes.

"Stay here until we come and get you" Dad said,

"Are you seriously going to make us stay in the car?"

"Yes we seriously are" he replied as they got out and locked the doors,

"This is bullshit" I snapped,

"Your parents are..."

"Dick heads" I interrupted, Noah hid a smile,

"I was going to say, very high up in the government, or are extremely decorated agents who have the highest clearance"

"This family is full of secrets" Noah said and then, "Angelo sends his love and he told us to be safe," I squeezed his shoulder.

Mum and Dad came back after half an hour,

"You could have at least cracked a window" I said,

"I need you to go to Westminster Cathedral, there is a secret tunnel that leads to an underground carpark, the code to get in is #8710*, park the car and then Tammara will meet you up top in the cathedral, you will find your way up there. Then you will need to head to an old abandoned ghost station that's no longer in use called Brompton, on Brompton road, it's about a 15 minute walk from the cathedral, the place will look closed up and abandoned, but looks can be deceiving. This key will get you in, be careful once inside, head down to the tracks, it's not in the best state. Once you're right down at the tube platform, head down the tunnel, there's 2 large torches at the bottom of the stairs, there will be plenty of doors and it will be a maze down there, you will know the right place once you're in it. If you pass through an arch then you've gone too far. You are to lock yourselves in until you hear 2 knocks and then the password: Churchill. Do you have all that, do you know what you have to do?"
