Phoebe

Caitlyn began to start sobbing. I hugged her. I can't imagine the pain she's feeling. All of the policemen who brought me returned from the building. A few seconds later, other police cars came rushing in and they dragged dead body's into their car. I saw a few guys. But, most of all three girls. They were lifeless, and gone.

The same cop who brought me here hopped in the car came into the cop car came into the car I was sitting and started the car engine. He drove all of the way back to the first station that I had come to when I found where Caitlyn was.

Through the whole time I was riding, I kept thinking of different ways this all could have ended. Caitlyn could have been shot like the other three girls, she could have been kidnapped the rest of her life, and bad guys would always be on the streets still.

When we finally got to the station, I was greeted by a blonde woman who must be in her late thirty’s. “Hello, we’d like to have you all answer a few questions about the men who kidnapped you. Please follow me.” She began to lead us to a room that was dark and had no windows. She signaled for us to sit down so we each took a seat on one of the mocha colored chairs.

A detective came into the room. I knew he was a detective because he had a suit on and his name badge had said, Detective Derrom. He had a deep voice as he spoke, “So, Ms. Caitlyn. Your boyfriend, Brian was one of the men who kidnapped you right?” Caitlyn nodded her head. “Were there other men?” Caitlyn stared up at the ceiling like she didn’t know what was going on. Then, she nodded again. The detective scribbled something down on his notepad. The detective asked the other five girls some questions, which I did not hear because I didn’t want at all to think about that situation they were in.

The same policeman who dropped us off here came to escort us out. He informed us that the men who had kidnapped the other girls and Caitlyn are all locked up and are going to be facing a judge, without a lawyer because they cannot afford one. As we left the station, I grabbed my bike, that one of the policemen must have grabbed for me. Caitlyn, still sobbing, followed me as I started ride my bike. She walked so I rode extra slow.

I decided we should just continue into the town until we got to out apartment. I realized that Caitlyn never stopped crying. We rode for more than four hours until we finally got to downtown New York. About a mile more, Caitlyn finally stopped crying. “Where are we going, Phoebe?” Caitlyn asked me. “Home.” I keep riding straight until we finally got to apartment building we live in.

Caitlyn must have remembered where we live, because she led me through the elevator with my bike. Caitlyn didn’t have a key, so I fished through my pockets and I finally found the right key I was looking for. I unlocked the gray door and we both walked in.

“Phoebe?” Caitlyn asked me. “Yes.” She sighed. “How did grandmummy die?” I stared at the ground. I didn’t want to think about this, even more talk about it. “She had a brain tumor, and he treatment got messed up.”

With no reply, I headed to the bathroom to take a shower. The one thing that can actually calm me down. After taking a shower, I put on fluffy pajama pants and a cami. When I left the bathroom, Caitlyn wasn’t still in her same spot on the couch.

I explored the apartment until I saw she’s in my room, in a deep sleep on my bed. I didn’t dare wake her up, so I grabbed a spare blanket from the linen closet and crashed on the couch watching the newest iCarly. I dreamt of how things could be very different than right now.

If only the nurse hadn’t messed up on grand mummy’s treatment, grandmummy would still be here, if only Caitlyn hadn’t been kidnapped, she wouldn’t have been through all of the trauma. If only Caitlyn hadn’t run away, we could be baking cookies together right now.

If only, if only. Those words cannot escape my head.

Caitlyn

Phoebe left to go take a shower, so I decided to go take a nap in Phoebe’s room. When, I got in there, as sense of déjà vu stroke me. Home sweet home. I cuddled into her fluffy blanket and crashed into a deep sleep.

I dreamt of how right now I could have already been at Brian’s house a few days ago, with my friends just enjoying life. But, right now, I don’t feel a bit happy. I am only relieved that Phoebe is okay. I dreamt that I was in Candyland eating a candy cane all by myself. It wasn’t real fun, because no one was there with me. I awoke by hearing the oven bake.

I walked into the familiar kitchen to see Phoebe pulling out a tray of cookies from the black oven. They appeared to be chocolate chip cookies. The smell blinded my nose. I hadn’t smelt something that good in ages.

Phoebe set the tray on the counter and took of the heat resistant gloves and grabbed both me and herself a cookie. We walked over to the couch and turned on the morning news. I decided it was time to catch up on the time I had lost.

“Phoebe, I missed you. What’s been going on? How’s mummy and daddy been treating you?” She looked at the television with a blank stare then replied, “They’re great.” was all Phoebe said. She didn’t go into details like school or friends or even her freedom.

“Have you gotten the freedom you deserve, like I did?” She nodded her head. “Though,” she started “I can’t do what you done. You do whatever you want and don’t care what the consequences are. I just don’t like to,” I stared at her. That must be why she always obeys mummy and daddy.

“Look, Phoebe. You just need to let go. Try Dancing in the Rain, don’t sit and wait for more rain. That’s all you’re going to get.”

OMG!! Dancing in the Rain is done!! From Spring Break to May 5!!! That was quick maybe a month or so!!! So, I just wanted to tell the point of this story. I have parents like this who don’t like me to write on Wattpad. My sister is just like Phoebe and does whatever my mom and dad day.

This story is dedicated to her, and I want you all to learn that it’s not about being perfect or any other stuff. You just need to be yourself and let go sometimes.

BTW- I may be adding parts in the end if enough people want to know how the whole story actually ends, because I kind of left you hanging like, What’s going on?

I hope you get the chance to Dance in the Rain. J
