After The Storm (Sequel)

First day

Liliana's pov

"Coffee for my beautiful wife" Jackson says handing me a cup of coffee as I stand at the front desk

"Thank you Avery" I smile giving him a kiss

"You're welcome" he smiles. "So I know Penny starts working here today. I just wanted to make sure you're okay? Did you want to talk about it" he asks

"No, I would rather not. She's working here now and there's nothing I can do about it so I'm just going to try my best to ignore her and focus on doing my job like a professional" I sigh

"Are you sure you're okay" he asks

"Yeah, I don't even want to spend anymore time focusing on that woman. I just want to focus on work and also my extremely handsome husband who has completely made me forget what I'm even supposed to be doing right now" I smirk

"Well I tend to have that effect on people" he laughs

"Shut up" I laugh before his pager goes off

"I have to go. April has a patient from over seas that I'm working on with her today" he says

"Okay" I say giving him a kiss before he leaves. I go to a conference room to work on some files, but a short while after I sit down I get a page from Amelia.

"Hey, you paged" I say meeting her outside of C.T.

"Yeah, I need you to take this case. Meredith needs a consult, but Penny is on her service and I don't want to be in the same room as that woman. I can barely look at her let alone work with her" she shakes her head

"Can't you page Nelson or someone else. I'm not exactly comfortable working with Penny either" I remind her

"Everyone one else is already in surgery. Look I know you don't like Penny either, but you're better at handling situations like this then I am. I mean you see what happened at the dinner" she says

"Fine, I'm only taking this because I don't want you and Meredith to get into another argument" I sigh

"Thank you" she says before walking away. I did not want to work with Penny right now, but I know how to be a professional and tolerate her when I need to, so that's exactly what I'm going to do.

"I'm here. What do we have" I sigh as I walk into C.T.

"Patient came in with a head lac G.C.S. of 14. Loss of consciousness at the scene" Penny explains

"So we can take him up for a ex lap" Meredith says

"There's no shift, contusion, or bleed. It's a mild concussion. I'll do an exam, but he's cleared for surgery" I say

"Is this the pastor who gave his congregation a uh special blessing" Edwards who was on my service asks referring to the pastor who had accidentally sent his sex tape to his congregation

"Word travels fast" Meredith smirks

"All around the hospital" Edwards says

"Yeah, I bet the pews will be full on Sunday" Penny jokes gaining a side eye from me as the room grows awkward

"Keep a monitor for any neuro deficits. I will do another check post op" I say

"Blake, get him ready for transport" Meredith says

"Edwards, go show her where it is" I say before they leave the room
